Kenma Kozume would never have thought of leaving you a few months ago, but now, it was a possiblity. A possiblity that you would leave him, but now, he felt as if he didn't really care. He didn't know when his feelings for you started draining away, or when he started to pay more attention to his video games then to you.
A few months a go, things were just fine. The Kenma Kozume back then would have wanted to spend the rest of his life with you, to start a family with you. Now? Nothing. Nada. He felt nothing for you.
It was like when he was plaing a game that he liked. He would be hooked on playing it, day after day, week after week. But as time passed by, he just didn't feel that passion anymore. He would buy another game, and continue on with his daily highschool life.
But this was a relationship, not a game, but it could as well be one. He could read the signs. They were falling apart, and their love, more like his love was dissipating. He knew you were trying to help him, and he very much appreciated it. Things just felt timeless, hopeless.
When his relationship with you started at first, he was in love. Not so much that he could have thrown away all his video games if you asked, but he would do the things inside of his control. He wanted the love he felt to be eternal, but thinking back now, maybe he was just too selfish. Maybe he just wanted you to himself.
He knew you were breaking inside; he knew everything. He knew how you cried yourself to sleep at night when you thought he was immersed in his game. He knew that you had been losing sleep because of this, your grades dropping and gradually becoming more unhappy and depressed.
Yet, he ignored it. Maybe he was a sadist. Maybe he enjoyed watching you shatter into pieces. He wanted to fix this mess, but a part of him wasn't bothered. So, as he watched you walk away, face contorted into pain, he made a promise to himself.
As long as you were happy, he would do anything for you, if you took the initiative. As long as you were happy, he would be all right. And when he saw you with another guy in your favorite café a few weeks later, he felt just a little twinge of regret.
