Soulmate AU: In which a person would never know colours unless they have seen their soulmate.
You had never known colours before you met Kyotani Kentarou. Life was miserable (kind of), the world throwing everything bad your way and Lady Luck abandoning you for your popular brother. All the girls flocked to him, and it wasn't a surprise that she did, too. He was quite the charmer around these parts.
You were quite the romantic too. All your life, you had been waiting to meet your soulmate. You believed that, one day, you would meet the fated one. Someone that loved you unconditionally (Yeah, even though you have Oikawa).
His fangirls would often misunderstand your intimacy with him, dubbing you as his 'girlfriend' with one glance. Aside from your chocolate-brown eyes, you two really had nothing in common (the girls wouldn't be able to see it anyway). You had long, smooth, (H/c) hair which you managed to tie into a messy side ponytail. Well, he was a step-brother after all. (And no, don't question my choices. Ignore if you don't have long hair.)
You knew they thought you were pretty after you heard the rumors, and you were so happy you bragged about it to Iwaizumi. He mumbled something about 'sibling genes' and stomped off to complain to Tooru.
Even though the world was montone, even though your life was white and black, as a human, you had to admit, life here on Earth was beautiful. And after you met Kyotani, he made that beauty even better.

Powerful. It was the first thought that came into your mind when watching the video that your brother recorded during practice. Perhaps even matching the strength of Iwaizumi. While he was gloating and bragging about how cool he was, you were thinking about watching an actual practice match. Even though he disrupted the flow of his team mates, he made up for it by winning them a point.
Putting him on the court was not a gamble; it was worth it. And during the rest of the match, everything went smoothly according to Tooru's plans. They won. Although his skills weren't as polished and neat as other spikers, he had an impressive amount of power.
You had learnt that his name was Kyotani Kentarou, or, as your brother liked to call him, 'Mad dog'. He had explained to you why he gave him that 'cute' nickname, and teased you about it ("Aww, does my adorable little sis have a crush on him?"). The match was scheduled mext week, yet you were already anticipating the excitement of the match.

The smell of sweat (and boys) greeted you as you trudged into the gymnasium. Some of Tooru's fangirls were already there, squealing like pigs. You noticed that a few of the boys kept glancing in your direction, but that only fueled your pride more.
Halfway through the warm ups, the gym door was forcefully pulled open. You tore your eyes from your brother only to find your peripheral vision bursting with colours. Eyes widening, you began to look at your surroundings. You were wearing... Orange, was it (Uh huh, 'cause you ditched Aoba Johsai for Karasuno)? The floorboards were browns, shoes black, uniforms cyan, and so much more.
The sudden addition of information was overwhelming. The world seemed so much brighter and vivid than before. It was glorious. You had to go talk to Mad Dog right away. Who knew he was your soulmate?
The intense glare that the teen gave you contrasted what you had just seen. All of a sudden, you felt nervous and sweaty.
"Hey, you."
"M-me?" Acting cocky only made your embrassment worse. Damn it, why would you stutter? Shooting him one of your plastic smiles, you tried to shake it off.
"Name?"
"..." You blinked. "Is it okay if I say my name is Riulle? Ahahaha..." You trailed off as he narrowed his eyes. "Okay okay, fine. It's (Y/n)."
"Hey, Mad Dog-Chan! Don't slack off!" Your obnoxious brother called.
Giving you one last look, he walked away. You would be sure to harass you brother to give you all the information about him. Nope! Totally not creepy and stalkerlike. Not at all!
