Chapter - 17

A father can't see their daughter in pain. And now both the father's, Nikhil and Viren are in pain because of their daughters. 

Nikhil though knows his daughter is strong but he also knows her only weakness is her daughter, Anamika who is now suffering from  severe health issues. While Viren who's already witnessing the suddenly change in his daughter's health was not being able to control his emotions despite of hard tries.

Bulbul and Nikhil move in Anamika's ward gathering some courage. Viren look up at them, he securely make Anamika lay on the bed who was asleep by now because of the effect of medicine. 

''She's fine! Abhi so gayi firse lekin usne mujh se baat ki.'' Viren told Bulbul, knowing she is worried as well.

''Waise report mei kya tha, sab normal hai na?'' He question, Nikhil and Bulbul exchange glances. Viren finds it suspicious,

''Kya hua, tum unhe kyun dekh rahi ho?'' He question again.

Bulbul stare at him for few good seconds and proceed to say but gets disturbed as Viren's phone rings, he attended the call and excuse himself saying he'll be back in 10 minutes.

As Viren leave the room, Bulbul sigh deeply and marched towards Anamika. She lightly packed her head and settled down beside her, several different thoughts were bubbling in her heart and she doesn't know how to calm herself. 

It's easy to console others and ask them to calm down but it's really hard to control one's own emotions. 

Nikhil stood by her side, he keep his hand on Bulbul's shoulder.

''Kitni ajeeb baat hai na papa, hum kitni aasani se logon ko sambhalne ke liye bol dete hai. Aaj tak jaane kitne hi log aaye mere pass aur jitni bhi critical condition kyun na rahi ho, na toh main khud kabhi kamjor padi na hi unki family ko hone diya. Lekin aaj, jab mujhe khud sabse jyada himmat dikhane ki jaroorat hai toh itna weak mehsus kar rahi hoon. Abhi tak toh main Viren se bhi kuch keh nahi pai.'' Tears slipped down her eyes.

''Itni mushkilon se toh meine aur Viren ne ek choti si duniya sajai thi lekin ab aisa lag raha hai aaj sab phisalta jaa raha hai''she added, her voice turned heavy. Nikhil caressed her head but said nothing. 

After a pause of some minutes, Nikhil breaks his silence, ''har chij hamare chahne se nahi ho sakti, jindagi apne hisab se chalti hai. Main janta hoon abhi you're feeling very low lekin main janta hoon tum sab sambhal logi. Aur waise bhi baat abhi itni nahi bigdi ki hum kuch kar na sake, hamare pass waqt hai abhi. Aur tumne toh kitne complicated case handle kiye hai, Anamika ka case toh utna complicated bhi nahi na, tum abhi bhi bahut kuch kar sakti ho beta'' he encourages her.

Bulbul shook her head and call in her hospital. She asked them to prepare a room, instructing them everything she disconnected the call. Bulbul cast a look at Anamika and sighed deeply when a deep voice hit her eardrums, she turn her head and finds Viren standing at the door.

He has some carry bags and a box which contains pastries. He must have ordered all this for Anamika. 

Viren moved towards Bulbul who stood up from her place, she stares at him blankly.

''Kya chupa rahi ho tum mujhse Bulbul, kya hua hai?'' Viren question, gazing at her with keen eyes.

''Main.. Main kyun kuch chupaaungi tumse. Main toh.. Main toh tumhe batane hi aai hoon, lekin uss se pehle hum Anu ko apne hospital mei shift kar lete hai fir baat karenge'' She exclaims which created more doubts in Viren's mind.

''Shift? Shift kyun karna hai? She's fine now, hum ghar leke jaayenge usse, hospital nahi!'' Viren declared.

''Wo thik nahi hui abhi Viren issliye toh keh rahi hoon na main. Jab wo puri tarah se thik ho jaayegi tab hum usse ghar le chalenge, lekin abhi usse treatment ki jaroorat hai.'' Bulbul was unfolding the truth slowly as she knows if she directly says what exactly has happened to Anamika, Viren won't be able to digest. 

Viren narrows his eyes, '' treatment ki jaroorat hai? Kyun? Aur hai toh yahan bhi toh ho sakti hai na treatment toh, shift karne ki kya jaroorat hai?'' He questions again, because for him Anamika is facing problems because of the expired medicine she had taken.

Bulbul takes a step closer to him, ''Viren, jis doctor ne Anu ka check up kiya unhone hi mujhse kaha hai ki hum usse apne hospital mei le jaaye. Kyunki… kyunki wahan uska treatment aache se ho sakta hai.'' She says meaningfully.

Viren, though gets the hint but his mind denies to accept Bulbul's words,'' treatment yahan ho ya wahan ek hi baat hai na. Dono toh hospitals hi hai aur.. aur main tumse keh raha hoon na aab sab thik hai, she's totally fine now. Kahin shift karne ki.. Jaroorat nahi hai!'' He exclaims, his voice turning heavy. The carry bags and pastries fall down from his grip, tears build up in his eyes.

Bulbul cupped his face, ''Viren please humein Anu ko shift karne ki bahut jaroorat hai. Uska treatment yahan nahi ho sakta hai. Main janti hoon tum meri baat samajh rahe ho, please accept this. Hamare pass abhi time hai, bahut time hai and.. and you can trust me, I promise main hamari Ana ko kuch nahi hone dungi. Please, let me shift her.''  Bulbul says in a calm, convincing tone.

Viren stares at Bulbul who assures him that everything will be fine but Viren isn't able to control himself, he breaks down in tears. Bulbul embraces him in her arms to calm him.
