The room around me was dark, a simple spotlight shown in the center of the room, a vampire staring hungrily at the door that was just being pushed open.
"Hello?" A young boy asks in the doorway.
Just as the words leave his mouth, the creature facing him leaps into action.
"What the!?" The boy yells, quickly slaying the vampire. "Who let that in here?"
The boy was yet to notice my presence, despite having already passed me, nor the other three soldiers at the wall opposite the door.
Light fills the room at the flick of a switch by the door, this being my doing.
Loud clapping can be heard from the other side of the room.
"Well done, Yuichiro Hyakuya, that was impressive." I turn back to the center of the room, the man whom had spoken was smirking slightly.
The man's name was Kirito Hiragi, first born of Tenri Hiragi, and my fiance.
Two soldiers stood next to him, each on a different side. One being Kirito's most trusted retainer, Aoi Sangu. The other my adoptive brother, Shinya Hiragi.
"What is this?" The boy, presumably Yuichiro Hyakuya, asked as he walked farther into the room.
"That was a test to see if you are conspiring with the vampires." Kirito informed the boy.
"Huh?" Yuichiro muttered to himself, seemingly confused as to why he was labeled a spy.
"Now for your next test, attack me with your cursed gear, but don't activate the curse." My fiance instructed.
"Sure, but don't be mad when I beat you!" The boy responded cockily, almost worryingly fast.
"Oh, just so you know, you probably shouldn't believe everything brother Kirito says." Shinya states.
"That's probably the most true statement I've heard all day." I say rolling my eyes.
Our tip seemed to have thrown the boy off, before he had the chance to compose himself, kirito had already activated his demon's possession ability.
Electric power filled the walls, floor, and air. Crackling could be heard for only a moment before the man made his move. Within the blink of an eye, the sword that had been at Kirito's waist only a minute ago was centimeters from Yuichiro's neck.
"That was a dirty trick!" Yuichiro complains.
"Complain about dirty tricks on the battlefield, and see if that stops the vampires from killing you." Kirito says as he places the sword back in it's sleeve, turning to walk back to his previous spot, still talking, "You didn't hesitate to do as I said..."
As soon as his back was turned, I noticed a slight tension in Yuichiro.
"Go for it, kid." I mutter quietly to myself, knowing Shinya had seen it to.
He was doing exactly as Guren would have, just not quite as clean.
He sprang, rushing at Kirito, sword ready to deliver a devastating hit. Just before his sword reached his target's back however, Aoi stepped in, knocking back Yuichiro's attack with one of her own.
Kirito turns back to the boy at his actions.
"You know, you would be dead if your comrade hadn't stepped in. What, are you mad I used a dirty tactic?" Yuichiro bragged.
"I take back what I was about to say, you are definitely Guren's subordinate." Kirito tells the boy, walking back to his original position.
    "Shinya, your turn."

A few minutes went by, Shinya's demon Byakkomaru knocked Yuichiro's katana from his reach, and got rid of the last ouch of suspicion Kirito could have had that the white haired man had anything to do with vampire spies.
"Gin, your turn." Kirito said, turning to me.
"Sorry dear, not gonna happen." I tell my fiance, smearing the word "dear" to make it clear to everyone in the room that I didn't like the man.
"You are an adopted daughter of the Hiragi family, and you will do as you are told." My fiancee stated, same as he did with Shinya earlier.
Instead of giving in like Shinya did however, I did something a lot more fun.
"Nah, we both know I'm stronger then you. What reason do I have to pick on a little kid, not your orders that's for sure. Plus you wouldn't hurt me, I'm your bride to be remember?" I tease.
"You know full well why you are to follow my orders."
"I would rather fight you right now." I say, ignoring him.
"Dual with the boy, or I'll order Aoi to attack you." He says smirking widely.
"Alright fine, but only because that girl scares me, no offense Colonel." I reply, muttering the last part to the blonde haired retainer.
Aoi wasn't unbelievably strong or anything. Realistically I should be able to take her out easily, yet her fighting style made practically no sense despite it's simplicity. I couldn't get a handle on it, always losing to the girl in any match we had.
"None taken. Coming from one of the strongest in the army, that's really a compliment rather then an insult." Aoi explains.
With this I walk from the wall behind Hyakuya, facing the boy as I summon my demon weapon.
    "Maroruro, come."
A long, obsidian black rod appears in my left hand at the mention of the name.
"Just a heads up kid, don't try to break this, it's not gonna happen." I tell the boy, gesturing to my staff as I speak. "You'd be surprised just how many times Guren has thought he could brute force his way through it."
Yuichiro smirked at this, after all it isn't often you get to hear something laugh at your superior.
I hold the staff out in front of me, diagonally across my body, only holding it at the center with the same hand it had been summoned to.
"Come at me, let's see what you are capable of." I call.
Just as I finish speaking, I pull a fuda from a secret pocket of my uniform. The boy runs at me as I begin muttering the enchantment for the spell tag. Yuichiro swings for the top of my head. I push the spell tag back into my pocket. I use the hand the fuda was in to spin the rod, giving it more force, and blocking his blow.
We continue like this, me blocking continuous attacks, until the boy backs away for a moment. I grab the fuda again, continuing to mutter the spell from where I left off.
"What are you muttering about?!" He complains, seemingly annoyed at his inability to understand me.
I smirk, continuing to enchant my spell.
Hyakuya starts his barrage of blows once more, though he only gets a few weak ones in before I finish the spell.
Suddenly I appear behind the boy, anything I had done since I began the spell had all been an illusion to keep the boy's focus. Throwing the fuda, It sticks the his face as he turns to see me.
"I win." I say calmly, walking over to Shinya, my weapon disappearing as I go.
"Hey, you aren't gonna even disenchant the thing for him!" Shinya complains.
Yuichiro was standing in the middle of the room, attempting to carefully pull the tag from his forehead.
"Just rip it off kid, I didn't even actually enchant it." I yell to him.
"Oh." He says, snatching it of his face embarrassed.
"We really need to make Hiragi Spell Craft a more important part of the Demon Army curriculum." Shinya mutters.
Aoi and I nod with a slight giggle. Back when we were still in training, if we couldn't tell the difference between spells, we never would have gotten past the first day of class.
"So, I'm clear?" I ask my soon to be husband, looking up at him like a cute puppy, though I didn't honestly care.
"I guess." He says quietly, clearly wanting to irritate me more, but knowing he wouldn't be able to.
"Welp, them I'll be off, see you at training Shinya!" I yell, running to the door.
As I walk through it, I turn back to the black haired boy who's still in the center of the room.
"Good luck." I tell him, closing the door behind me.

After going down a few floors, I enter the courtyard, a young girl runs up to me, she's about the same age as Hyakuya.
"Ginny!" The girl screams happily as she hugs onto my torso.
"How many times do I have to tell you, it's Gin." I remark.
"It's a nickname." She says as she always does.
"But it's longer then my actual name." I counter.
    "So!" She argues.
"How about this, you call me Gin for the rest of the day, and I'll give you some extra training before my team gets here?" I offer, even though I actually quite like the nickname.
"Okay!" The girl yells as she runs off towards the training area.
I'm about to follow her when I notice a flower from a cherry blossom blow my way. Catching it out of the air, I gaze at it longingly.
"Why can't the world just be at peace?" I ask myself. "Flower petals are a symbol of tranquility right? Then why do they still exist in a world in so much chaos?"
"Gin?!" The girl once again yells from across the yard, though I've only just heard her calls.
"Coming!" I yell back, letting the flower be swept away by the wind. "Maybe there'll be peace again, someday."
