Hearing the door open and close again, is making me rethink taking this job if the constant chatter is every day and all-day occurrence. I haven't even been able to take my break yet and it's only because I didn't want to leave Julian to suffer from all the work since it's just the two of us here. 'Does everyone in this town live off of caffeine or something?'

I try to keep myself focused on the never-ending lineup of customers when in reality I want them all to leave so the two of us can take a break, even if it's only for fifteen minutes. "Large pumpkin spice latte, with an extra espresso shot." I call out over my shoulder, when I look down I see a piece of paper with a name and phone number on it.

The customer who just finished paying and according to the neat print on the paper is named Maddison, winks at me. I roll my eyes before picking up the slip of paper and dropping it into the garbage with all the others that I've been given so far today. 'Do I look desperate or something?' I crack my neck releasing some of the tension that's been forming in the past couple of hours since the screen of the till is much too low for someone of my height.

'I guess it hasn't been too bad today, plus with free coffee as an additional perk makes it overall not a bad place to work.' I start typing in the next customer's order. 'I just wish that I didn't have to interact with everyone. I guess I'm safer behind the counter than on the other side if all those phone numbers are anything to go by. Though not everyone has been all that bad, like the man with the pair of light blue eyes.'

I prepare the customer's Mood tea, while Julian quickly restocks the cups before we get hit with another rush. 'He's definitely on the top of the interesting people I've meet today list, though I swear I've seen him somewhere before.' I place the tea on the counter, before cracking my knuckles, as my fingers are starting to get stiff from not being able to move since I've been standing around pushing buttons all day. 'It shouldn't be all that hard to remember someone with high cheekbones, shaggy white hair and who looks to be somewhere in his early to mid-twenties.'

"You could smile a bit, you know."

It takes me a second to realize that I was lost in thought to the point that I didn't realize that the next customer has walked up, who just happens to be my cousin. "Hey, Wes." I have to fight the urge to reach over and pat his back, knowing it's not considered professional and the's technically screwing one of my bosses.

"What? Don't like your first day?" He raises an eyebrow at me. "Did something happen?" He gives me a once over or at least as close to one as he can get with the counter in the way.

I'm technically the youngest in my family and of all my cousins, even though I'm as tall as my cousin Nole and have the same amount of bulk as Wes, everyone still continues to treat me like a cub. "Coffee."

He nods his head. "It's not too late you know."

I stare at him in confusion. "For what?"

"For you to find something else." Wes looks around the cafe as if looking to see if anyone is trying to listen to us or possibly looking for someone. "You could always come work for me. If you want." He smiles as if he's trying to encourage me to come and work for him, but with that slight glimmer in his eyes, I can easily tell that he would find it more amusing than anything.

"No trying to steal our workers Wes." Julian's voice calls out from behind me, his voice slightly raised so that he can be heard from over the espresso machine's steaming wand. "Amber wouldn't be very happy if you did."

The smile on my cousin's face disappears. "I would never do anything to upset Ambear." It was clear to me at this point that Wes was talking strictly to Julian and not to me. "I'm merely giving my cousin an option in case he decides that he doesn't want to work here after all."
