Starting With Inspiration

Many might find it strange that I write a crossover between multiple franchises, that are incredibly different from one another. The Kingdom Hearts universe, which already is a crossover between Final Fantasy and Disney property, melts together with the world of Monster Hunter? Drakennier and RWBY?
How ridiculous!
It's like aluminum foil in a microwave!
Don't worry, I found it very strange as well at first, so I don't blame you for thinking that way. However, the more I thought about it, the better it got. I was 14 when I started with first concepts, "World Keeper" as a placeholder name. As of writing this, I'm 19. I've always been a giant fan of Kingdom Hearts. Since I can think, Sora and the others have been with me and have been following me for my entire life. Kingdom Hearts taught me so many valuable lessons.
That true power comes from friendship.
To protect what matters.
How hard it can be to deal with loss.
And there is so much more. Avatar the last airbender has influenced my life the exact same way. (My favorite character still being uncle Iroh.)

As a child I couldn't comprehend all these subjects at first, but the older I got and the more I experienced, the more I understood. However KH and Avatar weren't the only franchises to fascinate and influence my life this much. Over time, I was able to learn about so many different games, books and shows, to this day I still know all of them. One day, my brother showed a trailer for a show that was to start in 2012. The very first RWBY trailer. I remember I was so amazed by the action and the visuals! Ruby smacking down the Grimm with Crescent Rose, the broken moon, the music. It was so beautiful! The other trailers released one by one and soon in 2012 the first episode of Volume 1 was uploaded to YouTube. And oh boy, was I excited! At the time I used to watch stuff like Winx Club, Pokémon, Digimon and many cartoons that used to air on Nickelodeon, but RWBY was so different from all that, it really blew my mind! It left such an impact on me. RWBY is most likely the reason why I listen to rock music!

At that time I was also obsessed with Monster Hunter, my favorite game being 4 ultimate. As sword and shield and hammer main, I got to beat up many amazing monsters. It's sad that I left the fandom due to the new fans that came when World released. I still play the games though, so don't worry, I keep up!
At the same time I was playing a ton of other games with my brother, Super Smash Bros Brawl's Subspace Emissary being one of the main reasons why I love crossovers so much.

Do you remember Super Mario Bros Z? Nazo Unleashed? True relics from the past, I know, but those animations stuck with me. The works of two dedicated fans who will most likely never know that I even exist, have left such a huge impact on my life. I can't even express my gratitude. Growing up watching the episodes was awesome and I'll never forget this experience.

I learned about Nier and Drakengard way later, when I was older, about a year later I was able to get my hands on the PS4 version of Final Fantasy X. We did have the PS2 version, however it was used, so the game would crash during the scene with Tidus and Yuna at lake Macalania. I understood heavier themes, I knew most about the other Final Fantasy games, Metal Gear and I used to play Touhou games. So more and more was recommended to me, Nier: Automata being the first game to introduce me to Yoko Taro. He certainly is a strange fellow, but I first of all love him for that and second of all, his stories really inspire me. What I find fantastic is the way he connected the first Nier to ending E from the first Drakengard. One ending, not even the canon one, sparked an entirely new franchise. After researching, playing games and watching videos, I was certain that at this point, connecting stories can be done with anything.
Crossovers can be done with anything.
Thanks to all the franchises and games I listed above, I finally began to write the first versions of World Keeper. Some of you may have noticed that WK is heavily influenced by Final Fantasy X and more,
I do like to reference a few other things as well!

I truly believe that crossovers have so much potential, no matter how weird it might be. For fans, crossovers are another way of showing love to the franchises intertwined. It's about appreciation, most at the time.
But for me, there's something else.
I want to prove something.
I want to prove that any person can do something as amazing as the games and shows I fell in love with. Anyone can write a great and moving story, amazing characters and so much more.
I myself am an amateur graphic design assistant, who graduated with a secondary school certificate, meaning that I don't have anything to do with writing itself. It's a hobby. Meaning that I had to learn everything from the ground up on my own. I still don't know what quality my work truly has, since I do not recieve much feedback and when I do, they're from people I already know and thus it could be a very biased review.
Either way, I do have a ton of fun working on World Keeper, I'll remember this period of my life as one of my most happiest times! WK will never grow big, it's more of a flopped project. Despite me wanting to quit multiple times, I keep reminding myself why I started this project. It will never recieve a lot of attention, but my love for video games and shows is stronger than my depressive episodes will ever be.

Every person defines success differently, for me, success is being able to embrace your ideas in any type or form.
Creativity is a blessing.
Never ever suppress it.
