As roming around the empty corridor, Akbar saw the walls which seemed a bit empty. He called his chief minister, one of his nine gems to make a masterpiece especially for him.
Akbar said " Birbal I want you to paint me a masterpiece. Take as much time as you want but the painting should be majestic."
Birbal was perplexed " But your majesty, I can't paint and you know that. How will I paint a masterpiece ?"

Birbal tried explaining him but Akbar did not seem convinced" I don't care Birbal. Just paint whatever you can the best and bring it to me."

Birbal was deep in thought...he thought about many things to paint but failed miserably. Finally he thought of a plan. He picked up a canvas and some paintbrushes and started painting his masterpiece.

(Later that evening)

Later that day...Birbal came to the royal court with his painting in his hand which was covered by a velvet cloth. Akbar was really pleased to see that his best minister made him a painting on his request.

Birbal took off thecloth and showed his masterpiece which was a blue sky and some green dots at the bottom known as the grass

Birbal took off thecloth and showed his masterpiece which was a blue sky and some green dots at the bottom known as the grass.

Akbar was shocked to see the unfinished work and said " Birbal, what is his ? You are showing me unfinished work ? "

Birbal smiled and replied " Your majesty...this is finished."

Akbar was utterly confused " What are you trying to depict here ? I cannot decipher anything!"

Birbal said " Your majesty, a cow is eating grass under the blue sky."

Akbar looked closely " But where is the grass ? " he asked.

The cow has eaten it all. Can you see the dots at the bottom ? That is all that is left." Birbal said.

Akbar asked annoyingly" Then where is he cow?!"

Birbal said calmly " Your majesty...you cant expect her to stand here all day, she ate the grass and went back home. "

Akbar laughed amongst the other courtiers." Very well Birbal. This masterpiece is surely going on the empty wall of the corridor. "
