"What?" I said in frustration to my friend,Lana in the other side of the call.

"I know it sounds stupid but we are not invited to Veronica's bash," she said.

" Stupid? My foot this is pure insult," I exclaimed furiously.

"Agreed," she said with a tone of anger.

"Bye," I said to her as my mom called me.

My holidays were going on so I came to live with my parents this Halloween.

"Yes mom?" I went towards her room.

"Sweety, how do I look," she quizzed..

"Mom, you look beautiful," I said with smile.

"You sure, you don't wanna go to the party?" She asked warmly.

"No, mom but don't be late, " I said to her as I went to the living room.

After a while, I heard the main door closing.

Mom must have gone.

I switched on the television and put on a scary movie.

Though still angry about the party thing.

Seriously how dare she?

This was supposed to be the best Halloween.

I stuffed the candies in my mouth and crushed them harshly against my teeth secretly wishing if Veronica was a candy I would first  eat her then crush her and then spit her on the trash.

I yawned as my eyelids got heavy.

I switched off the T.V and went upstairs to my room.

I saw the time, it has been two hours since mom left.

I lay on my bed.

Mom must be coming home. I decided to wait for her. I recalled my memories of childhood that when I was younger I would only sleep on my mom's lap and smiled at the thought that when I used to sleep she would lay me on the bed.

I really wanted to keep my head on her lap.

Suddenly, I heard a glass break.

What I heard next made me cover my head with my quilt and pray to God.

"Lizzie....my sweet child," I heard an eerie girlish sound coming closer to me.

I peaked from my quilt and the hair back of my neck rose.

There stood my childhood doll.

Suddenly, some fade memories came in my head.

At one time I used to love this doll so much that I forgot to eat and sleep. Sometimes I even used to sleep on her lap.

The chills ran down my spine as I felt my bed mattress weighed down as it does when someone sits on it.

Then I felt a hand over my head. Slowly patting it in a motherly way.

"Hush, now don't be scared, I am right on your side," I swear after listening it.

I felt asleep in a blink of an eye.
