Okay. So the other day I was doing something (I can't remember what it was) and my throat was really sore. So I get up and say, "MY THROAT IS KILLING ME!!! I MUST HAVE WATER NOW!!!"
And you know I got the water and chugged it. And it helped. But then I started thinking about what I'd said. That I NEEDED the water. Which you could say I did. But, I have a feeling that I would be perfectly fine without that water. It's not like I was dying of thirst or anything. There are people dying of thirst right now. Anyways, I feel like in more fortunate countries, people Take things like a simple cup of water for granted. You know? I mean, what if I didn't have that water and my throat hurt a million times worse? But I have the blessing of water at the press of a button.
My favorite quote is from a girl at our church who died two years ago. She was an amazing person, and let me just say, shout out to the Groves for raising such a beautiful daughter, inside and out. Anyways, she always said, "Dont take what you have for granted." And I think that's something important for everyone to remember. Especially the people who have water at the press of a button. Can drive in a car. An expensive, shiny, car. Think about that. Some people don't have the privileges that others do. And it's awful. And more than anything I want to encourage people to do something. To help people.
Always think about what you're saying. Because we (especially Americans) always say that we NEED NEED NEED. When really, all we need is to stop being so NEEDY!!!
But really, think about that the next time you say you need something. Do you really need it? Really? Do you? Because some people would do anything.
And never ever ever take what you have for granted.-graciegirl6541
