chapter fourteen

we stay at the bonfire for a bit before heading home, the boys' sleepover continuing. they're watching a movie or something while kenma and i go up to my room after showering.

"you should stream today. it's been a while." kenma says while sitting at the edge of my bed.

"already on it." i plop down onto my gaming chair and turn on my pc.

"are we a thing, atsuko."

i slowly spin my chair around to him. "i'd say so."

"okay."

"alright, kenma." i get up from my chair and stand in front of him, cupping his face in my hands. "if we're gonna do this you have to stop being so dry."

"sorry, that's just how i am."

"i was kidding." i press my forehead on his. "your dryness is cute."

i watch as kenma turns red. "g-go stream."

"fiiine." i let go of his face and get back into my chair. i'm still contemplating the face reveal. will i keep my identity a secret forever..? no, but i don't know when to reveal it or how.

i stream for a while, but not too long so kenma doesn't get bored. i lay down on my bed, kenma still sitting at the edge of it playing on his switch. i stare at the back of his head, unamused.

i feel eyes piercing into the back of my head. shit, i forgot i was at atsuko's. i slowly turn around to see her looking at me, very unamused. how am i gonna make this up to her. i scoot up the bed and lay my head in her lap, then continue playing animal crossing.

i run my fingers through kenma's hair while watching him play animal crossing. "kenma."

he slightly looks up to me from my lap. "yes."

i bend down and plant a soft peck on his lips. "spidey kiss." he immediately turns red after i begin running my fingers through his hair again. cute.

"spidey kiss."

fuck, that was so cute and wholesome. i feel my face rapidly heat up as she continues to run her fingers through her hair. yeah, i definitely love her. but, i can't let her know yet. i mean, we just became a thing and she doesn't know i've simped for her since she started streaming. eh, one day i'll tell her.

i hear her begin to quietly and softly snore. oh my god, she's so cute. i move my head from her lap and sit up on the bed. i carefully examine her facial features. how does she look so good when sleeping? that's besides the point. this isn't a comfortable sleeping position. what's the best way to do this.. shit.

i get off the bed and slowly pull her by her by her ankles until her head is on the pillow. thank god that worked. i crawl into her bed and lay next to her, wrapping my arms around her peaceful body. i give her a quick peck on the forehead before dozing off.

the next morning, i wake up on top of kenma's body, his arms around me. how did i- i'm not even gonna question that. i rest the side of my face on his chest, listening to his heart beat.

"atsuko..?"

he's awake?! i move my head slightly up to look at him. "kenma."

he quickly pushes me off of him.

"hey! what was that for."

"sorry, instincts."

i get back on him before he can get up from my bed and lay how i previously was before being attacked. "let's stay like this for a little."

he accepts his fate and wraps his arms around me again, running his fingers through my hair my in the process.

"atsuko, wake up."

"i..i'm up! wait, what?" i shoot up from laying on kenma and sit near the bottom of his torso.

"you fell asleep.. for thirty more minutes."

"why didn't you wake me up?" i lightly punch his chest.

"i've been trying to for the last ten minutes."

"oh. sorry, heavy sleeper. let's go downstairs." i get off of kenma and go to the bathroom to brush my teeth, him doing the same downstairs.

"atsuko, we need your help. like, badly." kuroo stops me at the staircase.

"um, with wha-" he lightly grasps my wrist and brings me into the kitchen to reveal morisuke and lev trying to make breakfast. oh. my. god. the kitchen is an absolute mess.

"what the fuck."

"oh, thank god, atsuko-chan! please help!" lev looks like he's about to cry.

"mori, i thought you knew how to cook." i cross my arms.

"i just said i did so mom wouldn't bug me about it!" morisuke exclaims.

"are you kidding me. so i took all that time learning while you just.. just didn't?! move, move." i push him and lev out of the kitchen. they're no use.

"need a hand?" i hear kuroo call from the kitchen doorway.

"not if you're as bad as them." i start wiping down the counters before i can cook.

"i actually taught myself how to cook."

i look back to him, unamused. "that doesn't sound any better."

"oh, come on, just let me help. it's gonna be hard making food for six teenagers."

"fine. fine." i throw the rag into the sink and go over to the fridge, taking out the egg carton while kuroo starts the rice up.

we finish up making the breakfast. i dust off my hands and put them on my hips. "not bad."

"not bad at all." kuroo holds a hand up for a high five. i complete it and we proceed to plate the dining table.

"breakfast is ready!" he calls out to the others who are sitting on the couches.

"oh wow. you really did learn." morisuke says as he sits down.

"yeah, unlike you, i actually took time- so much time at that, out of my day." i say.

we all eat breakfast. the boys go home after that. i wanted kenma to stay, but his parents needed him home. bleh. i watch some tv with morisuke before going back up to my room.
