I just got a note from Alva. She literally wrote her name on the note. It says: One of your closest friends is in pain but it was me sitting on top of an apple tree." I just don't get it! I don't know who could be in pain! There is an apple tree outside of FTRS but for the love of Grimm,Alva wouldn't give her hiding spot away so easily. That is so not like her. I go to Gilly's room so we can talk about the note. When I go inside, only Anna is there. She is reading a book. "Hey Anna," I greet. She looks up from her book. "Hey Kayla!"
"Where's Gilly?" I ask.
"Looking for Jocelyn," she replies.
"They haven't found her," I question.
"Yep," she says as she continues reading.
"Well I think I know where she might be!" I exclaim.
"Ya about that Gilly said if you pass by you might want to read this," Anna hands me a piece of paper. It's identical to mine. It says: On the tippy top of the tree I am humming with glee!
Hmmm... It's a lot like mine if I put them together what do they say? "One of your closest friends is in pain but it was me sitting on top of an apple tree.On the tippy top of the tree I am humming with glee!" I read aloud. "What could this mean?" I ask myself.
"Could mean that whoever wrote it is sitting on an apple tree humming with glee," Anna guesses. "But who could be the closest friend that was in your paper?" Anna asks.
"Oh and I received a piece of paper too!" Anna takes a piece of paper out of her pocket. "It says 'While your headmistress watches me I keep humming with hope and glee!'"
"My closest friend is.... Gilly!" I say not paying attention to Anna and rushing out of the dorm room and down to the library. When I get there I see Gilly. She is alright. So I can check her off of my closest friends list. "Hey Kayla!" Gilly says. She sees my panicked look and my wings keep on appearing and disappearing. "Are you alright?"
"Never been better! I lie.
"Uh huh," she's not convinced.
"Fine, the notes put together say your closest friend is in p-" that's the last thing I manage to say before the world goes dark.
