Jawn Rocha, or Master Rocha, was one of the last guardians of the miraculous to exist. He was 204 years old, and carried with him a box of jewellery. Two pieces were missing - two broaches, ones that had slipped out of the box as he fled the temple so many years ago, after Wang Fu created a sentimonster that ate the jewellery.

Fu didn't know that Jawn had ran off with a box too. Jawn had told Fu to flee, and Fu did, but so did Jawn, hugging a box so tightly.

Fu fled to Paris, unlike Jawn, who fled to what was now known as LA, one of the most glamorous cities in all the world, apparently.

Despite being so old, Jawn carried none of the physical attributes of an old man, thanks to the Fox miraculous around his neck. it was just a small necklace, easily hidden and it helped give the illusion of someone who was young. This was helpful, as he liked to mingle with his chosen ones.

Of the chosen ones there were three: Awsten Knight, Geoff Wigington and Otto Wood.

Awsten was gifted the Ladybug miraculous - the strongest of them all, with the power to create.

Otto was gifted the Black Cat miraculous. It was the opposite to the Ladybug - just as strong, but with the power to destroy anything.

Geoff was gifted the Turtle miraculous - this was not as strong, but it had the power to shield anyone from harm, meaning that Geoff was just as useful as Awsten and Otto.

How Jawn managed to come to the decision to give the three of them the miraculous was a long yet simple story, all about worthiness.

••••••••••••••••••••••

Awsten was late to sound check. AGAIN. God, Geoff was so gonna kill him. and Otto would be there too, which made things worse - Otto was new, a new member of the band, and Awsten didn't want to make a bad impression.

He burst through the doors and raced up the steps, running around to the side of the stage, heavily out of breath.

"Fuck..that was super close."

Geoff just laughed, plugging in his guitar. "Ottos not even here yet, Awsten. I wouldn't be worried."

Awsten smiled, and ran onstage, adjusting the mic to a sound level that suited him. "HEY!" he yelled, laughing. It was then and only then did he spot Jawn, lurking. "Who's that? I mean- they're welcome to stay for practice, I don't mind, I just..wanna know who they are."

Geoff smiled. "That's Jawn, he says he's gonna be a photographer for us when we finally get our asses touring." Geoff loved the idea of touring, and freedom. It made him feel happy - and what with Chloe on at him all the time recently, he decided it would be nice to have a little freedom.

Awstens smile couldn't be wider - and good GOD did he sport it well. "So you're gonna take photos of us?? That's fucking tight! I'm Awsten, this is Geoff, and-"

At that moment, almost too cliche for words, the doors swang open, and a short, curly haired guy came rushing in, wearing a floral dress. "Sorry I m late! Trains got held up." The man ran behind the drum kit, and sat down, heavily breathing the same way Awsteb was when he ran in 7 minutes ago. "I'm Otto."

"Hey, Otto!" Awsten said with a smile, rushing over to hand Otto the drumsticks. "Here. So you can play. Don't mind Jawn, he's a photographer. And don't worry about being late; I was too. I'm Awsten, and that's Geoff, but you knew that already, right? Do you know the songs? Wait- it doesn't really matter as of right now - just play whatever you think fits. I might just change the drum patterns anyway once I've gotten used to the way you play. I'd really like it if you gave me ideas too; I think that would really help us."

"Awsten, don't overwhelm the guy. Just do your best, Otto," Geoff mused, smiling at Otto.

Otto just kept smiling so brightly. "He's not overwhelming me! I'm glad he wants to include me in things. Last time I tried to be in a band, they all yelled at me. Decided I was annoying or something. Doesn't matter though." He grabbed Awstens hand. "Playing is my passion. Thank you for giving me the chance to pursue something like that."

Awsten grinned, and walked back to the mic. "Jawn, you ready?" he called, and Jawn nodded, so they began to play.

Silver was played first, and then Fantastic, and then Bones of '92. Otto did know the songs, but Awsten picked up subtle changes that just sounded better and cleaner. He couldn't be more thankful.

Jawn ran up towards the stage, to 'take some more photos from up close' - but he slipped, and fell onto his stomach. "Fuck-"

Awsten immediately jumped down, Otto following, whilst Geoff ran off to get the first aid kit from his back.

Awsten helped Jawn stand, and Otto asked questions, "are you okay?", "are you hurt?", "do you need to sit?".

It was clear to Jawn that these boys only wanted good. They'd be brilliant heroes.
