Geoff slipped into his home, avoiding Chloe, his girlfriend. She was so draining, constantly yelling, needing attention.

Not that Geoff didn't love her with all his heart. He knew Chloe just wanted some love and affection, but sometimes Geoff was too emotionally exhausted to do so.

He crept upstairs and into his attic, where he kept his gaming consoles and things that Chloe didn't know he had, like Zelda posters and extra games.

Nothing sketchy, just stuff Chloe didn't know about.

He stared around the room, before letting his eyes fall on a jewellery box.

'Shit, Chloes been up here,' he thought, picking up the box and opening it a little carelessly.

A flash of green light circled his head, and he gasped, before a little floating turtle thing appeared in front of his face.

"Hello, Master, I'm Wayzz, and I'll be your kwami."

Geoff poked Wayzz, and giggled. "Like a genie? Or..a power up in a game! That's so cool!"

Wayzz only shook his head. "I'm nothing like a genie, and I'm much more realistic than a game. See, Geoff, LA needs you right now. You, and two other heroes, are going to help save LA from Hawkmoth and Mayura, two of the most dangerous villains the world has ever faced. This bracelet is your miraculous, and you are to protect it with your life. Hawkmoth and Mayura also have a miraculous; that's why they are so dangerous. You are to protect your own, and Misterbug and Cat Noir's. Misterbug and Cat Noirs miraculouses are slightly stronger than yours, and Hawkmoth wants those specifically, so be careful. To transform, you say 'Wayzz, shell on' and you will transform into Carapace. Say 'Shell-ter to activate your special power, which is your shield."

Geoff nodded, writing everything down in his phone. "So what's with the French names for everything? Cat Noir and Carapace are both French."

Wayzz smiled. "The miraculouses originated in France, to put it simply. There was a temple there, which...never mind. It doesn't matter right now."

Geoff nodded again, and took the bracelet, carefully fastening it around his wrist. "How am I supposed to get out without Chloe seeing? Is she allowed to know?"

"No one must know about your identity. If anyone were to find out, you'd have to return your miraculous to Master Rocha," Wayzz explained. "Luckily, the miraculous have a charm on them. People won't recognise you because of it, so your identity will remains a secret, unless you were to tell someone, or if someone was to see you detransform."

Geoff smiled. "That makes it easier. At least I won't be needing to avoid anyone." He walked over to his desk, where there was a mirror. "Okay, let's do this, I guess. Wayzz, shell on!"

A green flash of light appeared around Geoff, and when it subsided, he was stood in a green suit, skin tight in the same way Misterbug's was, except this one had a yellow chest and stomach area. It also had a hood and a green mask, all three components covered in a shell like texture. He also had a shell on his back, to be used as a shield.

"Carapace, huh? Nah. I'll call myself..Blastoise. After the fuckin pokémon." He smiled, as the gloves and 'feet' on the suit turned blue, fading into the green with a turquoise colour, as if Wayzz had noted the change of name.

Blastoise climbed out of the attic window, and took the shell off his back, laying it on the rooftop. He stood on it, and it began to levitate. He took off, looking for his partners.
