Chapter 10 - Home Sweet Home

(Brittany POV)

"I'm so excited!" I squealed. San just sent me a warm smile as we waited for our flight to be called.

My birthday was in 2 days so San and I are going back to my Lima to stay with my family. I'm also really happy because I get to see Lord Tubbington and I haven't seen him in forever! What if he's picked up smoking again? It took me way too long to convince him to quit but if he's started up again while I was gone then that really won't be good. Also I think Mom mentioned that I would be meeting Faith's boyfriend, since he is coming over for dinner the day before my birthday. He better be the greatest boyfriend ever to my sister or else I will get San to release Snixx.

"You look pretty deep in thought there, you okay?" San asked. I snapped out of my thoughts and looked at her. The second our eyes connected a massive smile broke out on my face. She seemed to notice the change and gave the hand that she was holding a little squeeze. "You gonna answer my question?" She joked.

"Oh! Well it's just that Mom said that Faith's boyfriend is gonna come over while we're there and I'm not sure whether I like him or not" I said.

"It's okay to think that. I mean, you haven't met him before so I guess you don't really know what to expect. Think of it like this, your Mom and Dad know him and they obviously like him if they're inviting him over for lunch so he can't be that bad right?" She said. I thought about what she was saying and it did make sense, I trust Mom and Dad to make a good judgment although I'm still not gonna be completely sure until I meet him for myself. San ducked her head down to meet my eyes, waiting for a response.

"I guess you make a pretty good point" I mumbled.

"There's my girl" she replied. She gave me a peck on the cheek before our flight was called and we made our way onto the plane.

Once we got off the plane we went the go get our luggage before I started looking around and eventually spotted Mom, Dad and Faith waiting for us.

Once we all hugged each other, they lead us to the car and began driving home. San and I were in the back seat with Faith squished in between us.

"So Santana" my dad started. "It's been awhile since we've seen you. How have you been?" He asked. San looked over to me before he face broke out in a smile.

"I'm amazing" she responded.

"Anything new going on?" Mum asked.

"Oh! Santana and I have sex now!" I said excitedly. Santana went wide eyed along with my parents and Faith just burst out laughing. "W-what did I say?" I asked. My parents were looking a little pale. What if they faint? That would be horrible! I don't want them the faint especially while Dad is driving.

"Nothing Britt don't worry" Faith said with a pat on my thigh. I looked over to San and her face softened up and she smile at me. Or course I smiled back.

Once we made it home we gave San a full tour of our house. "Aww Britt!" San cooed. "This room screams Brittany" she sighed. "Oh my god is that Rachel Berry and Mercedes Jones? I need to take a photo of this" she said while picking up a picture.

"Oh yeah, that was us in 11th grade" I told her.

"Britt you are the cutest person on this planet" she said. The picture was a photo of us three in the choir room of our old glee club. It miss dancing a lot now that I actually think about it.

I was torn out of my thoughts when San let out a squeal. "What? What is it? Are you okay San? Do you have all your limbs?" I quickly said panicking. Sanny just threw her arms around me as if I was shielding her from something.

"What the hell is that!?" She screeched. I looked over to where she was looking and saw my favourite thing in the world (besides San).

"San" I sighed. I went over and picked him up. "This is Lord Tubbington!" I exclaimed. San just looked at him with weary eyes. I found it a little funny because lord Tubbington wouldn't hurt a fly... well actually he would and he has many times along with other bad things like joining a gang and selling drugs... but he wouldn't hurt Sanny!

"Um," she stammered. She slowly approached him and I had to hold in a laugh at how cautious she was being. "Hi" she said slowly. She brought her hand up to gently scratch him behind the ear. He immediately purred.

"Aww! He like you! LT never likes people the first time he meets them" I explained.

"Hm," she started with a smirk. "Guess I must be pretty special" I leaned in to give her kiss before confirming what she just said.

"Very special"

(Santana POV)

After we had unpacked everything Faith's boyfriend Christian came over for dinner. He seemed nice enough but I can tell Britt is still a little hesitant. She keeps giving him side glances and occasionally will scowl at him. It doesn't do much sonde Britt scowling is not intimidating at all, in fact it's just about the cutest thing I've ever seen.

"Okay! Mom, Dad dinner was great but Chris and I are gonna head up to my room" Faith said before taking his hand and beginning to walk away.

"That you so much for dinner Mr and Ms. Pierce" he quickly said.

"Faith remember the rules! Doors stay open at all times!" Britt called out, sort of passive aggressively. I placed my hand on her thigh and just rubbed small circles on it with my thumb, trying to call her down. It must have worked but the scowl on her face completely vanished.

"Sweetie," Whitney started, "I've noticed that you're not very fond of Christian. He's a very nice boy, you know?" She said raising her eyebrows.

"I'm sorry Mom" she sighed. "I just don't want Faith getting hurt or anything. She's my little sister, isn't like my job to protect her and everything?" Britt said.

"I understand you don't want her to get hurt, and neither do we, but some things in life you have to do on your own. How would you feel if we didn't let you date Santana because we thought she would hurt you?" Whitney asked.

"But San wouldn't hurt me" Britt said confidently, causing me to smile. God I love her so much. I don't even care how much of a hopeless romantic I sound like right now.

"Oh we know that" Pierce said while winking at me. "But Christian might not hurt Faith. You just never know these things"

"Hmm I guess so" she said thoughtfully. "I think I'm gonna go take a shower" she said before excusing herself from the table.

"I think she'll warm up to him eventually" I said once she went upstairs.

"Oh no doubt about it" Whitney said very confidently, causing all three of us to laugh.

It can't even remember the last time I've had a family dinner and enjoyed it this much. Because of my father being the kinda man he is, all our dinners felt so proper and we could never truely enjoy ourselves.

But this, this is what real family feels like, and it feels amazing.

AN : OMG. an entire month since I've last updated... I am so sorry. I don't even have an excuse I just haven't been in the writing mood 😅 but dw I'm getting back into things now.
