Summer Rose sat on the front porch of her home in Patch Island, rubbing her hands on her dog Zwei's fur. She smiled at the gray corgi, and placed her hand on her lap to allow him to lick her hand.
She looked up at her children, Yang and Ruby, as they played fight in the backyard.
"Yang Xiao Long!" Ruby yelled to her sister. "You dare betray your own family?!"
"My family doesn't understand anything!" Yang said. "Now, I shall fulfill my true destiny! And no one can stop me!"
"No one but me!" Ruby said, before charging at Yang.
The two fought each other, and Summer chuckled as her kids "battled". She could hear her husband walking over to her.
"Who's winning?" Taiyang asked.
"Not obvious yet," Summer said. "I'm voting for Ruby."
"I'll pay you 20 lien Yang wins," Tai said.
Summer giggled. "Okay. You're on!"
They looked back at the "battle" between their children.
"I will not let you destroy Remnant!" Ruby yelled.
"And I will not let you stand in my way!" Yang yelled back.
She grabbed one of Ruby's arms, and tossed her into a tree.
"Yang!" Summer yelled, getting up.
Yang covered her mouth in shock.
"Ruby!" she said, running to her sister.
Summer and Tai ran to Ruby, and knelt down to her.
"Ruby!" Summer said. "Are you okay?"
"My head hurts," Ruby moaned, putting her hand on the back of her head.
"I'm sorry, Ruby!" Yang said. "I didn't mean to--"
"It's fine, Yang," Summer said, picking up her daughter. "It was an accident. You go inside, I'll be with Ruby."
"Come on, Yang," Tai said, and he walked into the house with his daughter.
Summer walked back to the front porch, and sat back down, cradling Ruby in her arms. Zwei leapt onto her lap, and Ruby pet him with one hand, and held the back of her head with the other.
"Are you okay sweetie?" Summer asked.
"I'm okay," Ruby said. She looked up at her mother. "Mommy?"
She smiled at her. "Yes?"
"Why am I not strong?" she asked.
Summer smiled, and pulled her close. "You are strong."
"Then why does my head hurt?" Ruby asked.
"You're the toughest little girl I've ever seen," Summer said. "And when you grow up, you're going to be even stronger!"
Ruby smiled at her, and rested her head on her mother's chest. Summer held her tighter.
"You're going to get big and strong," Summer said. "And then, you're going to make the world a better place."
"I am?" Ruby said.
"Yes," Summer said. She looked up to the clouds, and smiled at the future she saw for her daughter.
"You'll change the world."
