Ruby slowly walked through a cave, which led to the cove the Night Fury was stuck in. The cave was very small, and the Grimm definitely couldn't fit through it if he tried. He was stuck here. And it was her fault.
Ruby found the entrance to the cove, and she pulled out the fish she brought. She tossed it out into the open, hoping it would attract the Grimm so she could get a closer look.
But nothing happened.
She sighed. It's never that easy is it?
Ruby walked out into the cove slowly so she wouldn't startle the Night Fury. But it was nowhere to be seen. She picked up the fish, and began walking around, searching for the Grimm.
Unbeknownst to her, the Grimm was crouched on a rock, like a stealthy panther. He had also been quite intrigued by Ruby. She'd shown him mercy when she had the perfect opportunity to kill him. And, when she found him again, she didn't hurt him. She just stared. Just like Ruby, the Night Fury couldn't get her out of his head.
And now she was walking out into the open, and making herself vulnerable to him. He didn't know why she did this, but she did have a fish. He might as well see what she was trying to do.
He started climbing down the rock, and that was when Ruby spotted him. She gasped, and held the fish to her chest. The Grimm stood a couple feet away from Ruby, and bared his teeth.
Ruby held the fish out to the dragon. The pupil in the Grimm's exposed eye dilated from the slit of a cat to a more dog-like shape. He assumed this was a peace offering. He cautiously approached Ruby, mouth open, to eat the fish. Suddenly, he crouched into a defensive position, and bared his teeth at Ruby again, his eyes becoming cat-like again.
She gasped, and took a step back. She knew immediately he spotted Crescent Rose, and thought this was a trap. She set the fish down, and reached for her weapon. The dragon, thinking she was going to attack, growled at her. Ruby was starting to panic. This wasn't going according to plan.
She grabbed Crescent Rose, and tossed it to the top of the cove. The Grimm seemed satisfied, and sat down like a dog, his eyes becoming dog-like once again.
Ruby picked the fish back up, and held it out to the Night Fury, smiling. He cautiously approached Ruby again, and opened his mouth, revealing his toothless jaws.
"Huh," Ruby said. "Toothless. I could've sworn you had--"
Suddenly, sharp teeth popped out from the dragon's gums, and he took the fish right out of Ruby's hand. She shrieked in shock for a moment, and watched as he ate the fish, and licked his lips.
"... Teeth," Ruby finished, in shock at what just happened.
The Grimm bent down to Ruby, and started walking towards her, as if he was asking if she had any more fish. She backed away as he approached.
"Uh..." she said. "You want more fish?" She fell over, and backed into a rock as the dragon got right up in her face. "I-I don't have any more!"
The Grimm stopped, and made a whimpering sound. He started gagging for a second, before regurgitating half of the fish on Ruby's lap.
"Ew," Ruby mumbled.
The dragon lifted himself up, and sat a few feet away, staring at Ruby. She sat there awkwardly, not knowing what he wanted. He just seemed to stare at her, as if he was waiting for something, while she held the slimy fish in her hands.
The Grimm looked at the fish, and back at Ruby. She looked down at it, and back up at the dragon. That was when she realized what he wanted, and she didn't like it at all. She sighed, and brought the fish up to her mouth. She hesitated for a second, before biting down on it. It was the most disgusting thing she'd ever tasted, but she wasn't going to risk letting him know that.
