I did nothing.
I just stood there, motionless.
I couldn't move.
I was paralyzed with fear.
Fear of something in which, I had caused.
Pain.
Pain to Luisa.
Pain to myself.
She was on the floor.
Groaning in agony, all because of my touch.
A touch, meant to be loving.
Meant to be supportive.
"I-" I stared her.
Every part of me wanted to help her.
To pick her up, hold her, and tell her everything was going to be okay.
But I just couldn't.
She clenched her jaw and squeezed her eyes shut, trying to stay strong.
But I wonder.
Is she trying to be strong for herself?
Or me?
She uneasily staggered up, her hand still gripped hard on her arm.
"Rose...?" She stared at me with a mixture of fear and confusion.
"I- I don't know w-what happened. I didn't mean-" I stuttered.
My eyes met my own two hands.
The same hands, that caused harm to Luisa.
They stung.
Luisa removed her hand from her arm and stared at both.
Both places I touched had a terrifying sight to see.
All the veins within 3 inches where I touched were popped out.
Each one was dark, crimson red.
So dark, they almost appeared black.
Almost.
Luisa's eyes widened, obviously frightened at the sight of what was shown on her skin.
That's when I noticed.
The veins on my own palms began doing the same.
Popping out, with a thick, gruesome appearance.
They still stung a bit, but the sight itself was more disturbing.
I have seen a lot.
Pain wise, that is.
Death wise, too.
So this should mean nothing to me.
But it does.
The pain.
Nothing but a slight sting to me.
But absolutely excruciating to Luisa.
And the color.
I know the color of blood.
To much to let it be a thought that this is the same color as average blood.
No.
This is not normal blood.
Not normal veins.
Not normal pain.
None of it is normal.
I felt the muscles in my hands tighten and cramp.
I looked down and they began to shake.
The pain continues to grow and grow.
"Arrggghhh." I groan, clenching my fists and closing my eyes.
"Ohhhh, Claraaaa." I hear the all-too familiar voice chant.
My eyes instantly shoot open.
The world around me that once was white all over, is now black.
Black and nothingness as far as the eye can see.
Luisa is gone.
And it's instantly colder.
"WHAT THE FUCK DO YOU WANT?!" I scream.
I am so tired of this.
A loud BOOM echoes through the pitch black world and causes me to fall backwards.
I open my eyes again.
The world is white again.
Luisa is sitting on the floor, shaking.
I scrambled over to her, ready to bring her into my arms.
She backed away just in time for me to remember what I can do to her.
She gulped hard.
"R-Rose? What just happened?" She asked, her voice shaking with fear.
"I don't know, Lu. Where were you?" I asked.
"You know that pain I felt when you touched me?"
"Yeah?"
"Well, my entire body felt like that. I felt like I was going to die. Everywhere around me was black. I heard you scream and then I came back." She shuddered.
The salty droplets that I have seen too many times streamed out of Luisa's eyes.
And she said the words I will never forget:
"Rose, I'm scared."
And for a long moment, I felt completely and utterly defeated.
"I know." I finally sighed.
I closed my eyes, ready for this to be over.
"Oh my god." I heard Luisa gasp from next to me.
I turned to face her.
"What is it?" I asked.
"You're... fading!" She exclaimed.
"What do you mean I'm-" I cut myself off.
I looked down at my own arms.
Then, the rest of my body.
Slowly, but surely, my body was doing just as Luisa said.
I was fading.
Losing its solid form by the second.
My vision clouded.
Oh no.
Am I leaving?
Luisa reached out to touch me, this time unafraid of what could happen to her.
But it didn't matter.
Because when she reached out, there was nothing.
I was nothing.
My body was matter-less.
Nothing to hold onto, nothing to touch.
Her hand passed through my arm.
My vision blurred.
And my hearing got weaker.
Until I felt gone.
I can't see Lu anymore.
Where the hell am I going next?
