~Chapter Seven~
It was not late before he realised. Upon reaching the room that he had left when he heard the glass, his question was answered.
A myriad stickers were on the door, not just the thirty two stickers he had stuck on his way (this time he counted the rooms, there were 45 up until this door) but many more. Some stickers were so high up that even Aaron couldn't reach them. The question of this being a prank was out of question as neither of the remaining persons in the mansion were taller or even close to Aaron's height.
A shiver ran down his spine. This was the crossing of paths between the dead and the living, one that he wished never would have happened.

Things never went awry after that incident. Maybe it was a sign from them—the entities, that they existed. A warning to stay away or be removed.
Aaron failed to put his attention into his job after the incident. His mind was too diverted to concentrate on the job at hand. Every few seconds, he looked from his shoulder to see if there was someone or something that was going to try and end him.
A hand rested on Aaron's shoulder and he jumped in the air. “HolyMaryMotherOfGodPrayForUsSinners—”
“Parkins, it's me. Breathe.” It was Alfred, and Aaron finally let out a strangled breath.
“You scared me to my wits, Wiley! Never do that again.”
“I'm sure I wouldn't do that to you ever again.”
“Okay, that's very nice of you?” Aaron wasn't used to Alfred not being either jolly or scared all the time and this new tranquility didn't suit him, Aaron observed.
Maybe it was the mansion affecting Alfred; it did succeed in doing so with Aaron.
Wanting to dissipate the thick air around then, Aaron spoke in a light manner, “How many rooms did you cover? I bet not more than me.”
“I covered all the fifty on this side of the floor.” was Alfred's blunt answer. Aaron didn't even know this floor itself had fifty rooms on each side. It didn't look that large when they had entered it. “I'm just so tired, I could sleep right here.” he yawned.
Aaron yawned in response and realised, maybe it was the sleep and fatigue getting to them. They were okay, for now. And they would be okay.
