Dark, it's always dark. No, no it's not it's- is it supposed to be dark? Yes, the dark is comfy, I can sleep. Peaceful, happy sleep. I'm nothing but a remnant of a memory, just cozy tucked away in this dark sleep filled place. Who am I? Brief flashes of people pop in front of my eyes but they're gone too soon. Oh well, I think and smile contentedly.
I feel as my mind slows and the pictures that once flowed by at rapid pace have all but stopped. I see people now, a family? Two little girls, one was more prominent than the other. The mom had dark hair and beautiful skin, her smile was radiant. The father- suddenly the pictures started flashing again. They'd slow every once in a while but then rapidly pick up again.
That's when I feel it, a sort of zap to my chest, wait- my, chest? I don't have- who am I? Oh well, these thoughts kept coming to my mind. Pain isn't new. it was a dull ache anyway, a quick little flit of a second. I close my mind again and slowly slip into that calm happy place again. I want to see the family- they seemed familiar.
I feel it again. That zapping. Only this time, the pain isn't dull. It's more focused, centered. It hurts. I grit my teeth as I wait for it to come again and that's when I hear it- wait, hear? There's nothing to hear, here, it's a quiet place. Who's- "Tsu," I feel as though everything stops.
Tsu, what's Tsu? I hear beeping now, faintly in my mind, frantic beeping. Someone is trying to speak but they're muffled. They should really clear their throat, how is the person supposed to understand them? That's when I see her, the woman from the picture.
She's standing in front of me, her smile is sad. She's familiar though. "Oh my dear," she says it calmly and I hear as her words have a slight lilt. "You came so far, you've done so much. You've grown, I'm so proud of you." I frown at her, grown? I don't even know her how can I- I felt it again. Only this time it hurt I cried out in pain and as I looked down I saw it. My- body? Wait, that's right I'm not just nothingness I'm a person. My name is- what is my name?
I forced myself to remember, that's when I heard it "Tsu, come on, come back to me baby." It was a boy, he was crying.
Tsu! That's my name, I looked down and saw my body had formed more. I was no longer a crude example of a genie but actually had legs, a torso, hands, arms, my hair floated around me. I could hear the man more and the room was busy, a woman was speaking saying numbers and codes. I turned back to the woman across from me, she smiled "I'm so proud of you. Be who you want to be. Be true to yourself, and never let others tell you who you are. You're not meant for this place," her voice was fading like she was at the end of a tunnel and I had to strain to hear. "You're not ready, not yet. I'll be waiting."I heard loud beeping and clamoring all around me, "last chance Davi," it was a woman. She sounded slightly older, "I know, damn it- where the fuck is Jules?" He practically growled the last part, I could hear the room and it was loud. I turned back to the woman behind me and saw the peace and quiet that was there. I wanted that quiet. Suddenly, I felt something on my chest, I looked down but there was nothing there. What- I was confused, how can I feel something clearly there and have nothing be there? "Damn it Tsu, stop playing hard to get. I need you," that voice, I know that voice. What was it the woman said before? D-Davi? That's when I felt it. It was like my whole being was ripped and yanked through the worlds smallest hole.
I felt my bones thrash and bend, I cried out but nothing came out from my mouth. The pain in my chest was nothing compared to the full aches I'd felt before. This was a burning, all consuming pain. "Ah!" I cried out, my breath was punched back into me and I felt like I couldn't breathe. It was strange. My chest burned and ached, "Tsu, thank god, it's ok shhh," I opened my eyes and saw him. The most beautiful boy I'd ever seen in my life, dark hair and a scar on his cheek.
"Let the girl breathe," I heard a woman say I turned to look but felt as my vision started to fade. Black spots started to fill my vision and I felt myself slipping into unconsciousness. "D-Davi?" I whimpered but suddenly everything was dark again.
