My Remaining Kindness (Dabi-X-OC) [BNHA/MHA]

Dabi slowly opened the door of the rundown cabin house located on one of the secluded forests of the country. The first time he saw her again he was certain to kill her. For him it's a way to harden himself but who would have thought he would not do it.

That time Daruma Ujiko (aka Kyudai Garaki) asked the league of villains to raid a research facility secretly run by the government. He was shocked to learn that there was a top facility operating. If not because of the tip that Daruma received he wouldn't have known about it. The reason for the raid is to get the research conducted by the top prodigy. The tip stated that that prodigy is conducting a research about multiple quirks. One of which she made a breakthrough.

All for one was very interested that he asked Tomura and his gang to raid it. However, they failed and only managed to get one of the many parts of the research. Add to that they were only able to kill the senior scientist's of the lab and not the young ones.

It also didn't help that the whole facility was engulfed with fire making the group alarmed. Dabi then is sent to search for the research papers in hope of salvaging them. Dabi after all has a great affinity with fire so they placed all their bets on him. With a lot of twists and turns he arrived at a secluded research lab where the fire is strong.

There he understood why the fire spread so fast. In the lab a tornado made by fire is coming out. It was too strong. He found the flames dangerous. With a few leaps he was able to get inside. He saw a female wearing a lab coat inside the sea of flames. Both of her hands are raised on the side. Fire coming out from the right whilst wind is coming out from the left. He also saw the floating piles of research papers going through the flames.

He immediately recognized who she was just from those quirks. She was someone he fully know. Seeing that the last pile was about to get burned. Touya immediately threw a ball of fire towards her. Startling her making the remaining pile of research paper fall off the ground. The woman dodged the fireball then went ahead to grab the fallen papers.

"Just give those papers to me Reiri, and I won't bother you." Dabi said as he flicked his hand sending blue flames to engulf her.

The woman was startled that this villain knew her name before glaring at him. Dabi shrugged and returned her glare with a lazy stare. Her golden hair glowed green because of the blue flames while her blue eyes became the bluest it can be.

The woman scoffed before swiping her hand up creating a rock wall. Distracting Dabi before kicking the wall behind her. A hole large enough for a human to go through was created. Without looking back, Reiri ran outside hoping to burn the last copy. Before she could even run a few meters away. Her vision started to waver, legs losing strength almost causing her to stumble.

'No' She thought as she tried to take a steady step and get away 'Not now'

Her eyes are so unfocused that she didn't realize she misstepped causing her to fall off the cliff. The only thing she had on her mind is to burn the papers in her hand. She was too weak though. She couldn't even lift a hand, it was too hard for her. She stared at the blurry night sky as the gravity pulled her down.

She saw the man earlier just a distance away from her. She saw him opening and closing his lips. But she just couldn't figure out what he was saying. Her ears are buzzing like crazy and her vision starts to double. Before her consciousness faded away she saw a shadow of a young boy suddenly popped out of her mind before merging with the silhouette of the man in front of her.

"...Tou...ya..."

The sun starts to climb up, making the dark sky turn bright. At the foot of the cliff Dabi stared at the woman laying in his arms. She was sleeping peacefully, it's as if she was not in the face of death earlier on. Dabi sighed as he carefully removed the pile of paper she was hugging. Quite disappointed that it was just the beginning of her research, still it's better than nothing.

'No wonder this research is quite successful.' He thought as he carried her back 'Your body is still too weak for your multiple quirks, huh. You haven't taken good care of yourself too'

Dabi gently closed the cabin door and placed a few logs on the fireplace. Sending a blue flame to burn the logs. The heat from the hearth warmed up the small house. After that he walked towards the room. There on the bed lay a sleeping beauty peacefully resting without a care of the world. Dabi stared for a moment before sitting beside her.

"I wanted to be the first one you see when you open your eyes. However, something came up and I won't be able to come for the next few days. Maybe weeks, maybe months who knows but this time it would be quite the danger" Dabi smirked at that before fixing her hair that is scattered on the pillow.

"The Paranormal Liberation Front is preparing for something big and I needed to be present. And if you happen to wake up on those days, I guess I won't be here" Dabi said to thin air, hoping that the person lying on the bed was able to hear him. He was not usually talkative but he needed to tell these words. It might be the last time he will come here again. Even though she was asleep he just hoped that she heard him.

"You have exhausted yourself. Now you are comatosed for two years. I really look forward to the time you awake. But I guess that won't happen. It's now or never, remember back then. When I had told you that I would be exacting my revenge? Now's my chance. So I'm going to immediately apologize to you for I won't be here when you open your eyes. My life might be in jeopardy after all."

Dabi then paused taking out a worn out journal and stared at it before placing it on the wooden bedside table. "Everytime you are comatosed you forget everything. It's as if your memories are always on reboot. I witnessed how your parents were hurt because with your self regeneration comes the great price of losing your memories. The journal is the only thing I found from that house. It was the journal of Dr. Otonashi, your father, he had written everything from your childhood up to that day. However, I ripped the pages where my name is written. It was nice to see you again and to be able to take care of you. I've been thinking maybe it was better if you would totally forget about me. I couldn't bear to kill you. I don't know why, maybe because you were the only one who recognized me or maybe you are the ounce of kindness that I have left. Either way I guess this would be for the better. Have a new life, live the normal life your parents wished for you."

Dabi stood up and went to the door but before leaving he gazed back at the bed. He stared at her for a good full minute before opening the door.

"Goodbye, Reiri"

The door clicked and the cabin returned to silence. The sound of the burning woods filled the air. The lady sleeping on the bed had her hands out. There was a small twitch on her finger, however, no one was able to witness it.

AN: I have already written the next chapters but I won't be uploading it for the time being. I am waiting for the update about Dabi's backstory. Because I want to align it to the original story. So that it might appear as if the chapters are left out parts of Dabi's backstory (hahaha I dream big). Depending on the manga update this chapter might be edited too. I would really want it to be an x-reader kinda story but nevermind. So yeah hope you like this story, feel free to message me for any ideas or what not. Sometimes I need some spark of inspiration.
