"Hey, wait!" Camryn struggled to get herself together as she stumbled to the platform with her best friend more than 10 feet ahead of her.

Oliver turned around and sighed. "Come on! I'm dying to know what Hogwarts looks like!"

The little pale girl quickened her pace until she reached him. Her and Oliver had been best friends since before they could remember. They went through everything together. From playing quidditch with the post in their backyard, to having deep talks about the issues with her parents.

Camryn stopped when she reached her best friend. She took in the amazing sight of Kings Cross. The smell, the sound of the train engine, kids and their parents laughing and talking all around.

She looked around some more until she spotted Oliver's mom.

Oliver looked over to his mom and then to Camryn as if to seek approval.

"Go, Ollie." She sighed with a small giggle, watching him run over to her.

Although she loved him and his mother, she couldn't help but feel a sly bit of jealousy. Her parents never bothered to take her to the platform. They always relied on Mrs. Wood to do so. If she couldn't, they simply apparated there, then back home as fast as they came.

Camryn watched as he pulled his mother into an embrace. She kissed his head then took his hand and began to walk over to me.

"Camryn..", she began before pulling me into and hug that was so tight I could barley breath, "I'm going to miss you both so much." She squeezed Camryn tighter and then pulled away.

"I love you both so much. Stay out of trouble and owl me as soon as you get sorted into your houses!" She shouted as she stumbled away through the crowded train station.

As she watched her leave, Camryn was snapped out of her thoughts.

"Come on Cam, journey awaits us." Oliver smiled brightly, taking her hand and pulling her onto the train.

Oliver watched Camryn as she looked out her window, her brows furrowed with a look of worry on her face. "What's wrong?"

She sighed. "What if-", she turned to look at him with sadness growing in her face, "-what if we get put in different houses. You know because..my parents."

He stared into her eyes, he always knew this calmed her. "Camryn, we both know we are gonna be in Gryffindor, don't worry." He said this confidently, which was immediately changed to a look of concern when he saw that her expression remained the same.

"Even if....", he looked at her with a small smile dancing on the corners of his lips, "..we don't get put into the same house, we will still be the bestest of friends.", He assured her.

She smiled up at him half-heartily, telling him all he needed to know. He quickly changed the subject to talk about what classes and spells they were most excited to learn in their up coming years at Hogwarts.

The sorting hat smiled and sung a funny tune as the whole great hall erupted in excitement for the new sorting ceremony.

"Shhh, shh, quite down now!", the voice of an older, stern looking woman boomed over the loud children.

"Welcome all to the annual Hogwarts sorting ceremony!", a tall old man with a white beard stood at the podium.

He began to talk some more, but Camryn couldn't even hear what he was saying. All she could think about was how her parents were Slytherins and soon after their years at Hogwarts, they became death eaters. She didn't know much about this, as she was only 11. She had heard stories and she knew her mother and father would be livid if she wasn't Slytherin. She spent most of her time with the Woods, which her parents didn't like all that much, but they minded because they always thought she was annoying and to much to handle.

She stared into space, deep in her thoughts, until she heard her best friends name being called in the distance. She quickly snapped out of it to see Oliver walking up to the chair that had the sorting hat on it.

"Hmmm...Oliver Wood, eh? I remember your parents. Both very nice Gryffindors they were", the hat was almost whispering, "better be.."

"GRYFFINDOR!" The hat exclaimed as the table next to them exploded with cheers.

Camryn could felt her palms start to sweat as she prayed she wasn't next.

"Stout, Camryn." The stern voice of the old women called out her name signaling for her to come up to the chair.

Of course.

As she sat down, she felt her mind racing with thoughts and a wave of concern flooded over her as she glanced at Oliver, who was looking the same.

"A stout?! I remember your parents, also. Very different. Both cunning and strived to prove themselves. You, though, your different. Your kind hearted and sweet."

She felt excitement begin to boil in her as the sorting hard words were clearly not leaning towards Slytherin.

"But!", the hat shouted, "I seek a wakening. Deep inside of you, young Stout. A thirst to prove yourself. Something no doubt, you would never say aloud...", there was a pause, "...better be.."

Camryn was practically shaking at this point. The last few words of the hat ringing in her ears as she waited for her house to be shouted.

"SLYTHERIN!"
