They head inside, closing the door behind them quietly.
"Tell them what you know," Jiang Cheng says, looking over Nie Huaisang. The Nie Clan leader closes the fan that had been opened to cover his face and taps it into one of his hands.
"As you should know, our clan leaders used resentful energy from beasts and creatures. From what Clan leader Jiang told me, the person who's behind all of your current troubles is using something similar, but they are using something to control those beasts and creatures rather than channeling it through a blade."
"We can't be sure how many Yin Iron pieces there are in the world either," Jin Ling adds. "Remember the piece that Sizhui and Wen Ning found?"
"Well the Yin Iron isn't the only piece of object capable of causing something like this," Zizhen points out.
"With all due respect, please get to the point," Jiang Cheng says to Huaisang, his voice irritated. "We were going to discuss the sword spirit inside Suibian."
"Erh, right," Huaisang says nervously. "I had to do more research on blade and sword spirit, but after Clan leader Jiang let me examine Suibian after it reacted strangely a few nights ago. I do not believe there was any resentful energy to cause it to react that way, but rather because its spiritual connection with Wei WuXian is slowly reawakening. Suibian is a very...loyal spirit. It's been that way ever since he got it." Nie Huaisang explains.
"I agree," Wei WuXian smirks. Jiang Cheng rolls his eyes. Wei WuXian had been one of the youngest cultivators to have his sword sealed. The only reason the sword had unsheathed for him was well...because of his golden core.
Wei WuXian pushes himself off the wall. "Lan Zhan, remember when I told you about the vision I had? It didn't feel like just a vision. It was almost as if I was pulled into another realm, but only briefly. I just knew I wasn't sitting outside the Jingshi anymore. My surroundings had changed. It looked like it was supposed to be a peaceful place but because of the tension between ChenQing and Suibian at that moment, everything seemed dark and gloomy." Lan Wangji looks ahead, deep in thought.
" A spirit realm?" Xichen murmurs.
"Yes, that's exactly it." Wei WuXian agrees. "It was almost like another realm. Perhaps it is a realm between existence where the spirits to our weapons reside. We can't see it but it is always there."
"Is it like a Secret Realm?" Jin Ling asks." A secret realm was like a separate dimension from the regular world, a place where cultivators raid for rare treasures, beasts, and herbs.
"In a way, but not exactly. I remember what I read in the book my grandmaaster gave me. It is a place where the essence of our spiritual weapons reside. However, no stranger can simply steal a spiritual weapon that is not their own. Unless their core isn't strong enough to form a connection with that spirit, but even then it is a rare case
Tell me, do we even know what it means for our weapons to be considered 'spiritual'?"
Zizhen cocks his head. "I-I thought it was because of the connection with our souls and our core."
"There may be more to it than we think. We can't have all the knowledge in the world at the tip of our fingers. The books I read when I was with my Grandmaster were nothing like the books I read even at Cloud Recesses."
"I thought you weren't a fan of reading books?" Jiang Cheng snorts. Wei WuXian puffs out his cheeks.
"Well, I didn't have much else to do other than to study and learn cultivation with my master on that mountain. I wanted to make my golden core stronger again so I could help her fight beasts on the mountains." Wei WuXian turns towards Lan Xichen.
