Where am I? I think drowsily as I awake. Slowly, my vision Flowers. There are flowers. Why are there flowers? I attempt to stand up, hissing at the pain in my leg. I ignore it and look around. I appear to be in a cave. Columns rise from the ground, stretching up towards the apparent entrance of the cave, falling short about a few hundred feet. I'm not getting out the way I came apparently. Wait- Did I come from that way? HOW DID I SURVIVE THAT?! Am I some sort of fucking immortal? Wait- Am I? I look down at myself to learn I look like a normal human, but decide I could still possibly be an immortal being. After a moment, I notice the hallway. Wonder what's that way. I think before heading towards it.

I open the large doorway at the end of the short hall to reveal... A flower? I nearly shriek as a face forms on the flower. "Howdy! I'm Flowey. Flowey the flower!" It says. This time, I do shriek. Aaaaand then stomp the flower into oblivion. Looking up from the now hopefully dead flower, I see a worried goat lady. "Oh dear. Are you alright, my child? I heard a scream while looking for snails." She says, concern in her tone. I nod, collecting myself. "Yeah.." I say, a bit unsure, convinced I just had a heart attack.

"What a relief. I am Toriel, caretaker of the RUINS." The goat lady says, putting a fuzzy hand to her chest. "I am...." I begin, trailing off as I realize I don't remember my name. "What is my name?" I ask myself. "You do not remember your name?" Toriel asks. I shake my head, now staring at the ground in front of me. "Oh my. How unfortunate." Toriel says, clearly worried about my state. "Here," She says, offering a fuzzy hand, "come with me, child. We can talk over pie. Maybe I can help you remember your name." Hesitantly, I took her hand.

Toriel led me through the ruins, explaining the puzzles. One puzzle seemed a bit dangerous, though. We encountered a ghost. It's name was Napstablook and was very shy. After a few more minutes of walking, we reached Toriel's humble abode.

As we reach the door, she opens it before turning to face me, "Please, follow me to the dining area." She turns back around and continues into the house. She leads me into the house, from the main room to another room with a chair next to fireplace, the entrance to, what I could only guess from the smell of pie, the kitchen, and a small dining table set up.

I go to take a seat as she gestures to the small dining area. She heads to the kitchen. I hope she comes back with pie... I think to myself. Just as I finish that thought, she comes back into the room, and to my luck, with two plates of pie. I happily pull the plate closer to myself immediately after she sets it down in front of me. I realize how hungry I am. When was the last time I ate? I ask myself.

"You act like you haven't eaten in weeks, my child." Toriel says. "Ish jus' thoo good. (It's just sooo good.)" I reply with my mouth full. Toriel laughs a little, "Well
I guess I will take that as a compliment, then." I smile and finish the slice of pie. We begin to talk about my past, but I can't seem to remember anything before I fell. I think that maybe it's better that way. Whatever my life was before couldn't be good if I fell down that hole.

"Well then." Toriel says, a bit dismayed she couldn't help me remember. "I must go do something." She informs me before adding as an afterthought, "Make yourself at home." She heads out the door. I'm alone. (666 words >:D) Despite knowing it's wrong to snoop around someone's house, my first thought is to go down the odd staircase. I try to convince myself that it's wrong and I shouldn't, but my curiosity is stronger. I get up, going to make sure Toriel actually left. As soon as I am sure, I begin down the stairwell...

It's a bit dark, but I can manage. After a while of walking, I nearly run into a wall. I turn and continue on my way. After a minute more of my journey, the path leads me to a room. It was bare of all but a large door. I look back nervously, knowing Toriel could come back any second. I'll be fast. Just a peek of what's on the other side of the door. I'll be back upstairs and Toriel won't even notice. I try to convince myself as I look back at the doors. I nod to myself and push the doors open. Another hall. I begin down it. There's another empty opening before the hall continues, leading to a larger set of doors. I shiver as I realize it has become much colder since I first started down this hall. And much lighter, too.

I jump as I here a knock. "U-uhm... W-who's there?" I ask. "dish." A voice replies. "Dish?" I repeat, confused. "Dish who?" I ask after a moment. "dish isn't who i normally talk to, is it?" The voice asks. It took me a minute to get the joke. "Oh. Oh!" I say in realization before giggling a bit at the horrible joke. "I'm afraid not, though." I say. "oh. i guess i can talk to you in the meantime then." I can tell by their voice, they're a dude.

A/N

Chapters will hopefully be longer in the future. Uh- I apologise if this was horrible. Wattpad was ruining my motivation by constantly telling me I can't save the work I did at school. But hey! I got the chapter out before the end of the week! :D
