When King Drupada was blessed with a twin son and daughter from the Putrakameshti Yajna, the future of Dharma took a new turn. Krishna popularly known as Draupadi emerged out from the sacred fire as a full grown young woman. Ved Vyasa described her as the most beautiful woman of her time. Krishna's life was a tragic one. She was wronged in every step of her life. Everyone made choices for her, even Lord Krishna to whom she truly surrendered, without considering how she will feel.
When Arjuna won her hand in Swayamvara, she was forced into a polyandrous marriage by Mother Kunti's decision. Her hardship didn't stop here. In the game of dice, when Yuddhishthira lost his kingdom, brothers and even himself, he still put Krishna at stake. Thus, he ended up losing her too. The greatest sin was committed here, when Duryodhana, Karna and many other Kauravas humiliated her in open court in front of Maharathis like Pitamah Bhishma and Guru Drona. Kaurava Prince Dushasana attempted to disrobe her to nudity but Lord Krishna saved her by turning her sari into an endless attire. This event ignited a fire within her which was one of the prime reasons for the Kurushestra War. Although the victory was on Pandava's side, but it brought great destruction. She lost her father, siblings and sons which made her life barren. After being the Queen of Hastinapur for thirty six years, she was the first one to fall and die when the Pandavas where ascending towards the heaven.
Unlike other mythological characters, Krishna is often overlooked. Her story is known to all but how she felt remains unknown. She was born unasked and had to marry five men unwillingly. She was dishonored and was almost left unaccepted. She was able to prove her purity and her ability to purify the evils. She was the sepal which held the five petals of a flower together. Gradually she became Dharma's truth, Vayu's strength, Indra's eyes and Ashwini's beauty and wit. She was astonished when her husbands failed to protect her in the game of dice, which is the basic duty of a husband. She excepted her situation but sheerly believed in protesting back. Krishna is one of the most iconic and versatile woman. She is fearless and courageous who fought for her rights. She stood for woman kind. For ever sinner, she gave them appropriate punishment. But she was kind hearted and eventually forgave all. She was an eminent Queen, loving wife and loyal friend.
Females have faced discrimination always in every aspect of her life. Men has always dominated the weaker ones. Our history has gifted us with a fearless woman like Krishna who could be the ideal inspiration for all. If life imposes hardships then we should face it with courage and believe. Krishna waged a war not only to reply back to her sinners but to tell the world not to tease the weak. Today's time is much alike the Dwapara Yuga, where depravity is at its height and it is the perfect time to put an end to this.
