ALOISA's POV:

I couldn't shake the feeling that crept inside me when my hand has been engulfed by Elian Ruelle.

The moment I walked into that meeting room I was I felt his gaze raked all over my body.

When my eyes met his, I found myself drifting into Nirvana. It was so overwhelming.

It was so daunting because it was nothing but an illusion. An illusion of warmth, tranquillity, and safety.

But I could also see a little glimpse of darkness looming over his soul like a shadow. I could see it clearly because it was calling out to the darkness that's residing in me.

What the fuck is wrong with me?
Why am I thinking about him?
I need to focus!

Come on Lo, Focus!

I pushed the thoughts of him to the back of my head and I focused on the files infront of me.

I immersed myself completely in the work.

I don't know what was the time but I was startled when I heard knocks on my door.

KNOCK

KNOCK

I took a deep breath and composed myself.

"Come in," I said.
Carlos entered.
"You have a dinner to attend," he said.

I looked at my watch and I was surprised that it's 6:30 pm.

"Shit! Thanks for reminding me Carlos" I said as I began to gather my stuff.
"You are welcome as always," he said winking at me playfully.
I chuckled softly at him.

"I'm heading out so why don't you go home today early? Elle will be happy" I said as I locked my office.

"Thank you! Goodnight and have Fun" he said as he hurried into his office.
I rolled my eyes.
"Yeah it'll be anything but that," I said as I walked towards the elevator with Marcus following behind me.

"Goodnight" I called out to Carlos as the elevator doors shut.

We walked outside the building and Marcus opened the car door for me.
"Thank you, Marcus," I said as I got in.
Marcus settled in the passenger seat.

"To the Wexlyn's Mansion," I said to my driver Mathew.
"Yes ma'am" he replied and the car pulled away from the curb.

I sat back in my seat as I prepared myself as if I'm going to a real war.
I took deep breathes calming myself, fortifying my brain and my heart so that their words will not penetrate through my defenses.

"We are here ma'am" Mathew's voice pulled me out.
I looked out.
