Dimples
"Reggie I thought that you was going to take my car to get the brakes fixed."
I said putting four pull ups and the twins sipping cups in their diaper bag.
"Why you rushing me? I told you that I was gone do it, Dimples." He said flipping through channels. He had been telling me for the last few weeks that he would do it.
My grandma always said, If you want something done you gotta do it yourself.
He hadn't kept the twins in a while. My sister had been keeping them. He had been gone a hell of alot lately.
"Don't even worry about it Reggie." I shook my head.
"Why you acting so damn salty this morning?" He asked propping his feet on the bed.
"I'll be back." I grabbed the twins and headed out the door. I drove to the nearest Mechanic shop.
It had been weeks since I talked to Kema. I missed her so much but she was stuck in her selfish ways.
Tiana still called every other day to tell me about her new school. I pulled up to D&D Auto Shop.
My uncle on my mama's side worked there.
I got the twins out of their car seat. We walked to the office area.
"Niece where you been hiding?" My uncle Rob asked from behind the desk.
"Working." I smirked. He was so fake. He was one of the holier than thou ones.
"Oh, Farah, you still working at that club?" He peered from his bifocals.
"Yes, are you and your wife still stealing from the church?" I asked pulling my wallet out of my purse. I hated when they called me that shit. Farah was my real name.
"We borrow." He said looking around, through clinched teeth.
"Whatever you say Unc." I laughed.
"You need to leave that mess alone. We'll welcome you with open arms. You're headed straight to hell. That's not the only way to make a living." He said.
I rolled my eyes. "Yeah whatever floats your boat. I guess we're both headed there with gasoline draws, huh?" I laughed.
"Can you please fix my brakes? Time is money, I have to go to work." I smiled.
He blew his breath and walked off. "That ain't no job, that's a hoe house." He mumbled.
"Did you say something unc?" I yelled after him.
He kept walking. That's ashame. I shook my head.
"Can I help you beautiful?" A deep masculine voice from behind me asked.
I turned to face him. He looked like a grease monkey. Grease was all over his Brown overalls.
"I'm waiting to get my brakes changed."
"What's up little guys?" He said directing his attention to the twins.
"What's up?" Jayden said back. I giggled and shook my head. Jaylon was trying to hide behind my leg.
"Well is anyone assisting you?" He wiped his hands on his overall.
"My uncle is supposed to be but he's having one of his Bitch fits right now." I said.
