"Love I thought you had my back this time, man im wrong this time..."
-Keyshia Cole

Tiana.
Weeks later...

"Are you ok?" Tia asked.

"I'm good." I responded. I picked my aching body up from the gymnasium floor.

Practice and dealing with Chris had taken it's toll on me. My legs felt extremely weak and the gym was spinning.

"It doesn't look like it." Tia said with concern written all over her face.

The rest of the squad stood around whispering. Tia was the co-captain and a senior.

She was a beautiful girl on the inside and out.

"Just checking boo." She walked back to her position to continue leading the cheer.

I could see Mrs. Taylor our cheer leading coach staring at me from the bleachers.

The routine wasn't too hard and didn't involve anymore toe touches.

If I attempted one more the E.R. would be my tonight's destination.

I continued the routine cutting off parts that my body wouldn't allow me to do.

After going through the routine once more Tia ended practice.

I sluggishly walked to grab my bag from the bleachers. It felt like a ton of bricks rested on my chest.

"Tiana." Mrs Taylor called, walking from the top of the bleachers.

No not now. I thought to myself.

"Whats the problem?" She asked finally approaching me.

"Nothing, what do you mean Mrs. Taylor?" I stared off into another direction.

"I talked to your World history and Math teacher and your flunking. She also said that you barely come to class." All of the girls were beginning to leave the gym.

"Is there any problems at home?" She asked pushing her hair behind her ear and placing her hand on her hip.

"No Mrs. Taylor there's no problems at home." I rolled my eyes and sighed.

My phone began to vibrate uncontrollably in my hand.

I ignored it. "Im trying to pull up those grades. As for the skipping it won't happen again." I knew that was a lie. I thought to myself.

"Ill be checking up on it. I expect better from you." She said turning to walk away.

I looked down at my vibrating phone. It had been vibrating the entire time Mrs. Taylor was talking.

My chest got heavier when I saw who had been blowing my phone up. It was Chris and he had texted me more than 14 times and called 12.

Damnit man. I walked into the breezeway hoping that I could avoid him.

Sya was my ride home and I was trying to make it to her car without him noticing me. I knew that she was already out of soccer practice.

I knew that he was looking for me. I powered walked through the half lit hallway.

I could see Kelice and her friend standing by the corridors. I attempted to make my way past her.

"These hoes need to do better." Kelice said purposely slinging her purse into already sore arm.

She sized me up but I rolled my eyes and kept walking. I could hear her and her friend laughing behind me.

If she wanted Chris she could have him. I dont want him. To be be honest I wasnt the fighting type.
