Angels slaughter

Searing pain tore through her back, twisting her as she screamed in silent agony.

The wind tore at her, sharp and howling as she plummeted ever downwards. She tried to look around but found her head wouldn't turn. It was black anyway. Everything was black. It always was. Anger, sorrow and betrayal flashed through her mind, dancing together to make an emotion she would never be able to name. A cry of pure agony finally burst from her throat as the pain overcame her. The pain was everywhere, every sense was clouded. Her back felt as if completely ripped open, leaving her open and bleeding. A single feather, glow fading like a dying ember, caught her vision-

Bottle green eyes shot open as her body jolted, still in the nightmare. Shaking ever so slightly the girl sat up, dark copper hair falling over her face a she did so. With tired eyes she glanced at her bedside clock and let out a heavy sigh. Two-thirty. She stood up slowly and rubbed her face, padding to her door and pushing it open as she stepped into the hallway. Silver moonlight cast lengthy shadows from windows left uncovered by blinds. The girl wandered to the stairs and walked down them quietly, aching from the dream.

Valerie let out a sigh as she padded into the living room, glancing at silvered figure sleeping on the lounge. Julian. He was a family friend, so much so that he practically lived with them. His snowy white hair was tousled and fluffed up, caught by the faint breeze dancing in through the living room window. Cautious not to wake the albino, Valerie stalked past him and slipped into the hallway that led to the front door. Maybe a walk would clear her head and distract her from the dream-pain. Her back wasn't aching anymore, but she could still feel the pain if she thought on it. Slipping on her boots and a thick jacket, she opened the front door and stepped out. A fresh sigh of wind greeted her as she closed the door and walked down her front steps.

"Where to...?" She spoke out loud, as if asking the breeze. Valerie set off down her front driveway. She lived just out of a moderately large city, only around a ten minute walk away. She kept her head down as she walked, eyes adjusting to the eerily lit world. The night had always been a beautiful time, especially nights when the moon was at her peak in the sky. Everything was bathed in her glow, shadows twisting in the reaches of her light. Valerie wandered toward the old park, lifting her head to look around and take a deep breathe, enjoying the calm and quiet.

The Playground was small, having a single slide and a set of swings. The only other thing there was a tall climbing frame with a small sheltered place to sit at the top. Valerie silently heaved herself up to the top and leant back against the wall of the small shelter, her gaze drifting out over the silver glazed trees. Yawning tiredly, she rubbed her face. The dream had...tormented her for so long she couldn't remember. It didn't come every night but it still was just as agonizing when it did come.

The wind began to gradually pick up as Valerie tracked the minutes by watching the moon. By now it would have to be three thirty, possibly four. Sweeping her gaze over the tree line she froze, her focus caught on a dull glow.

It was like the glow from a slowly dying fire, bright yet fading. The glow itself seemed to halo a figure, a figure she couldn't quite make out. Curiosity took over as she slowly stood and slid down from her perch. There was a feeling in her gut, a bad feeling, but she chose to ignore it. What was the worst that could happen? Valerie slowly walked toward the tree line, tilting her head as the glow seemed to grow further away. Reaching the tree line, she peered into the shadows, watching curiously.

"Sister love, Sister mine" The masculine voice echoed from behind her, velvet smooth. Valerie spun around and stumbled back, bright eyes darting around for the owner of the voice.

"Oh, it's been so long, hasn't it?" A dark, yet melodic chuckle accompanied the statement. The voice drifted, it seemed, dancing on the wind.

"Where are you!?" Valerie spat out, swinging her head as she tried to pinpoint him. Glancing around, she stepped back a few places "Come out and look me in the eyes!" she snarled and glared at the darkness.

A taunting chuckle in response. As Valerie turned around again a force slammed into her ribs, sending her down swiftly. A gasp left her throat as she tried to scramble up, only to find herself winded.

"I was not informed of your Human aspect" The glow was bright and fierce, fanned out from the figure standing above her. She froze as her eyes focused on him...Wings like living fire, spread out wide. Little embers rained down in soft showers as those mesmerizing wings moved slightly, dying before they touched the ground. Predatory eyes, so much like a tigers, danced with fury. He was angered...at her?

"Human aspect?" Valerie spat out, glaring back into those kohl rimmed eyes. She scrambling back she managed to sit up, clutching her side in agony. The next few moments moved in a blur of golden red. A flash of clean steel, a feral snarl from the creature, a searing cold agony.

"Such a shame we couldn't have talked longer, sister love, sister mine." A sick grin. Valerie finally let out a pained sob, shaking and staring into cold eyes. Her body shook as she raised a hand to her ribs, crimson swirling on the bladed embedded in her. Her heart fluttered, and took its last beat.

The dark crashed in on her as the Seraph laughed bitterly...
