She sat there, listening to the sounds of the forest. Wind fluttered through her hair. The remaining light from the sun shone onto her, and she closed her eyes. Sunsets were beautiful. She picked up the pink orchids from nearby, then instinctively twisted them into a shape that resembled a flower crown. She looked away from the sunset, realizing that she now had a crown in her hands.
Smiling to herself, she reached up and placed it on her head.
Once the sun finally sunk below the horizon, she stood up. It was dark, so she produced a glowing orb in her hand to light her way home. The world around her was noisy, the sounds of owls hooting and crickets chirping.
Despite the darkness, she strolled leisurely towards her house, sometimes stopping to smell a flower.
She likes flowers.
But all journeys must come to an end, she finally returned home. The underground house was built into a hill, a wooden door and two windows was all that was showing. Flowers grew along a stone path that led to the door, and even more flowers lined the windows and door. She followed the stone road to the oak door, opened it, and walked inside. She closed the door and beelined it straight to her bed. It had been a long day, her flowers took a lot of work. She could shower sometime later.
Just before she flopped down, something caught her eye. Something that hadn't been in her home when she left earlier that morning.
A mirror. It was a small handheld mirror. It had gold outlining with dark obsidian jeweled accents.
She reached over and grabbed it, inspecting the mirror before turning to see the mirror itself.
But instead of her reflection, she only saw a murky cloud. She attempted to rub off the cloud, breathing on it like she's seen people do. It didn't come off, so she suspected that the mirror was broken.
She didn't throw the mirror away, thinking that she could fix it in the morning. She put it on her nightstand.
She changed from her Greek style dress to a comfortable t-shirt and sweatpants. For the final time that night, she looked at the mirror, before putting it down and turning off the lights.
'That's for another day,' she thought, slipping under the covers of her white comforter.
She soon was asleep, snoring softly, facing away from the mirror.
Unbeknownst to her, the mirror beside her was glowing a brilliant yet subtle blue.
When Mingyu woke up the next morning, she wasn't where she went to sleep.
<-Are you willing to pay the price of freedom?->
A loud splash came from the stream nearby, followed with curses, gurgling noises, and excessive sarcasm.
What a nice way to start the night.
The female began moving her arms, trying to float against the rapids pulling at her body.
Gurgled noises escaped her mouth as she tried to call out to her older friend, to get help, something. Then a shadow overtook her, it was her friend, standing in front of her.
The older woman tried to say something, but when the struggling girl in the water looked up with a desperate face, she rolled her eyes and stuck out a hand for her to grab.
She pulled the girl out of the water, and the younger panted.
"Dumbass, you could've touched the bottom," the one who helped her grumbled.
"No, I was, like, a million feet away from the bottom!" the tinier, though not by much, objected. "Anyway, thanks for saving me, I figured that with your lack of morales-"
"What do you mean, 'lack of morales'? I have morales!" the older said, sounding offended.
"That's a lie. You would dropkick a child if it was socially acceptable," the younger snapped. "Anyway, as I was saying, I didn't expect you to help me, so thank you for that."
"I have morales," the older grumbled, but nodded as a reply to the thanks.
The smaller sighed, knowing that was the best she could get from the other. It wasn't much, but it was something. "We should probably start heading to the nearby town. I don't really want to be out during the day too much."
The older nodded once again and they started packing up their supplies, as the moon started its journey into the sky.
-Why fight for something you'll never achieve?-
The moon had just reached its pique when they reached a small shop selling hardwares and trinkets of all kinds.
The only reason they even entered that shop was because the younger wanted to look around, despite the protests of the older claiming they didn't have enough money. ("We totally do! We have enough to get something small, I checked!" the smaller argued. The taller sighed.)
So there they were, browsing around, looking at random things, when the smaller eyes landed on a golden-cased compass, with a nearly black obsidian background and a golden hand pointing north.
She grabbed it quickly, bringing it over to the older. They looked at each other, and for the first time, the younger saw intrigue in the olders eyes.
"We're getting it," muttered the taller, and unfocused look in her eyes and a determined look on her face.
"Of course we are!" the smaller responded, marching to the counter.
On the way out, they didn't notice a hooded male watching them, walking away with the compass.
The unknown male sighed.
"So it has begun,"
-Why trust anyone who could hurt you?-
A small camp was set up outside of the town, consisting of 2 tents, a dying fire, and 1 large log acting as a seating place. There was no one in sight, and nothing, aside from the quiet snoring of the older person could be heard and soft chirps of crickets could be heard. There wasn't much light from the fire nor the moon or stars. But soon the darkness was replaced with a soft, light-blue glow, enaminating from the tent where the younger was sleeping.
Juli was shaken awake by her older friend, Venus. Panic rose among the two as they realized, they didn't know where they were. There was nothing nearby aside from a small oak forest.
A female head poked out from behind one of the trees. An elf head. And they slowly approached each other.
