"Check the door," a woman commanded, her voice demanding instant silence. She was taller than the rest, with jet black hair pulled into a tight bun. A younger man with curly brown hair rushed to do her bidding. He looked out the heavy white door- first right, then left, then right again.

"All clear," he whispered.

The woman nodded curtly. "Let's go," she said briskly. The group of scientists, all wearing white lab coats and silver name tags, ran out the door and into the waiting truck. They piled in, shutting the door behind them with a snap.

A man in the front seat already had the engine running. At a speed way above the speed limit, he skidded around the corner and sped off into the distance.

The scientists, all huddled in the back, let out a cheer. They threw off their lab coats, heels, and tags, shoving them in a corner. The tall woman took out her bun and let her hair fall free down her back.

And together they raced towards the horizon ahead.
