~ The Entrance Exam ~

Friday - July 26th - 1:16pm

{Eri's POV}
"Damnit!" Someone yelled from the other side of the city type course. I don't have time to look back, I just need to keep running.

I jumped over a broken robot desperately looking for some type of point. As I turn the corner I could see a red hat poking out from behind a dumpster.

"Isn't that Kota's hat..?" I thought. I crept towards the dumpster in any case that it isn't Kota. I peek my head around the dumpster and my assumptions were correct. There sat Kota, he wasn't injured so I was curious to why he was just sitting there. He seemed to be shaking but it could just be my imagination.

"Hey Kota!" I chirp. Kota swiftly swings his head towards me. He must've not known I was here.

"Whatcha doing back here..?" I ask as I sat down next to him. He was shivering, I guess I'd know best out of anyone, he was...scared. I slowly placed my hand on his shoulder.

"There's nothing to be afraid about Kota.." I said gently.

"Your quirk is amazing and hey, we don't know if these robots aren't water resistant".
He perked his head up at me.

"I-I'm not scared, what gave you t-that idea" he muttered through shivers.

"Well let's see, I grew up as a lab experiment so I'd know what scared looks like and it's 87 degrees outside, so you can't be cold". He continued to stare at me.

"If you were too scared you could've told me Ko."
Ko is my nickname for him. (Pronounced K-oh)

"Yeah.." he mumbled in response. He brought his knees up to his chest and his hands to his face.

"S-Sorry. I guess I wanted to be like my parents,
l-like Deku.....like...you.." he said, trailing off the last part. I could see a light tone of red covering his cheeks. Was he....blushing?...

Of course the thought of this made me blush a little, I decided to shake this feeling off for now. We have to pass this exam. I got up quickly and grabbed his arm. He was tripping at first but once I let go he ran at the same pace and direction of me.

"Where are we going?!" He yelled out to me, despite us being 3 feet apart.

"Well, where do you think? You wanna be like Deku right? Well so do I, so we're going to go find some robots and kick there asses." I responded with a grin on my face.

We had been running for about 5 minutes when Kota stopped dead in his tracks. Confused I turned my head back in front of me only to be met by a giant piece of metal. In panic I tried to stop making me scratch against the concrete almost hitting the robots giant foot. I jerked my head up with a grin.

"We found one!" I chirped happily looking back at Kota. I noticed that Kota was shivering even more. With a frown I looked back and began to Run towards the robot. I leaped at it simply placing my hands on its leg and focusing my quirk. As I rewound the robot back to its broken state when a ding is heard, signifying I've received a point, and my excitement sky rocketed. I looked behind me as another ding is heard and Kota is standing over a broken and glitching out robot. Still in shock, I ran towards him and realize that he was the one who took it down. Our motivation to complete this exam lifted as we took down robots, hearing the joy filling ding every time.

The exam has ended and I'm so pumped, I feel like a child again. I'm skipping in front of Kota on the walk back to my house. Sure he's lagging behind but that's just Kota for you. He's always a little grumpy. We got to my house and waved goodbye when I stepped inside.

"I'm Home!" I shouted, hearing myself echo around the house.

"She's home!!!!" Papa screamed. Papa's quirk was based around screaming so we've gotten used to it. He ran up to me and gave me a huge hug. He was obviously cuddling with Dad because he's wearing his sweatpants, oversized Eraserhead T-Shirt, fuzzy slippers, and had his hair down without any of the gel he uses quite frequently.

"Sooooooo how many robots did you destroy? Was it fun? Bet Kota was there. You guys totally teamed up-". Papas rambling was cut off when Dad entered the room.
"Calm down Hizashi, let her speak" Dad calmly spoke, making Papa immediately stop talking. That's when my Brother walked into the room. He was in his PJs and I'm assuming he just got back from Pro Hero patrol.
"It was...." I started in an upset sounding tone till I started excitedly telling them about all the robots we hit and how many points we got. I told them about how amazing Kota was in conquering his fears and how I used my quirk to turn them to piles of metal and screws.
Dad seemed pleased, maybe even proud.
Shinsou, my older brother, came and patted me on the head.
"Good job little squirt" he said in response to my pleasing news. My face dropped into an annoyed look.
"I'm not little" I spoke, removing his hand from my head. He chuckled.
"It doesn't matter if you're 40, you'll still be little to me" he responded back, still chuckling.
"I'm going to go shower, I'm sweaty" I said, redirecting the focus.
"I bet you are" Dad said as he made his way to the kitchen.

13 minutes later

I stepped out of the shower and wrapped a towel around my body. The mirror was foggy so I took our hand towel and wiped it. I secured my towel and started brushing my hair when I heard a knock on my door.
"Yea?!" I yelled in response, peeking my head out of my bathroom door.
"Dinners ready!" Papa yelled through my bedroom door.
"Okay! One second" I yelped in response. I got into my PJ's real quick and went back into the bathroom to brush my hair. I looked up into the mirror and that's when I saw him. In pure panic I screamed which caused Dad to run into my room.

"ERI ARE YOU OK?!" He yelled as he saw me sitting on the bathroom floor, tears in my eyes. I peered around me but couldn't see him, could I have imagined it..?
"Uhm y-yea I'm ok..I just thought...." I started
"Y'know what, never-mind, I'm ok really" I finished with a warm smile. Dad smiled back at me as he kneeled down to my level and gave me a kiss on the forehead. He got up and reminded me once more that dinner was ready. I nodded assurance to him as he left.

Could it have been in my head...Or..is he somehow back....? I decide to shake off the thought and pull myself back to my feet, regaining balance. I sighed putting my hair into a high ponytail and leaving my room, shutting the door behind me.
