Raptor POV

I sped away from the Centre, swimming so fast my vision got blurry. Not that I saw much anyway, since we all live in the deep dark areas of the oceans. I closed my eyes, I didn't care if I bumped into someone... All I wanted was to get to that one place that always calmed me down, the surface. I just hope that it's night-time, I didn't check before I left...

Raptor POV, memory

"RAPTOR!" Olaz yelled, clearly annoyed, "Please pay attention! Fishing season is about to start and we don't want any of us to be captured!". "Yeah, yeah, plastic nets and local hiding spots, bla bla bla... You give this speech every year, Olaz" I said. It's boring to listen to the same thing over and over...
"Oh, were you thinking of the humans again? How they miiiiight not hurt us? Wake up, Raptor, that will never happen", the wolf-like creature growled at me. "But please-" I was cut off by another. "Raptor, please... Just stop annoying us with all your 'theories' and just focus on our kind, not the humans" a soft, yet stern voice told me.

"But we won't know until we find out!"

"Raptor, please..."

"We only see the dark side of humans... Why can't they have a light side?"

"You know what? Leave."

"What..??"

"If you want to be with them so badly and not help us save us from potential extinction, might as well learn it the hard way and be with them."

"But Olaz-!"

"NO. BUTS. NOW LEAVE BEFORE I FORCE YOU TO. I'VE HAD ENOUGH OF YOU AND YOUR STUPID IMPOSSIBLE FUCKING DREAM!"

"... FINE!"

So I swam away, not looking back.

Raptor POV, present

I swam up to the surface, thinking about what Olaz said. In a way, he did give me permission to go to them, right?
I jumped onto a rock, and looked at the sky, it's sunset. I've never actually seen a sunset before, so I was fascinated by the colours, even tho I can't see them. I can feel the warmth of the sun, but also the breeze of the wind on my small scales. I was so fascinated, I forgot to heck for any humans. I closed my eyes, not realising I was very close to land and not noticing someone approach me...
