Mrs Alexander's POV:

I know that it was too cold to be outside tonight but it hurt to try and resist coming here. It wasn't a surprise that Jessie was here but I still wanted to make sure that it was her so I called out to her. I could hear the surprise in my voice but Jessie clearly showed it through her facial expressions.

Her expression calmed down but she still didn't say anything.

"So let me guess, you already read the entire book?"
"Of course, you should too."
"I have," she nodded her head, "The rings, I don't understand why we can't take them off."
"They help me control my powers but the reason you have one is because there's actually two reasons for it."
"Oh really, enlighten me."
"Because if I get too out of control you'll feel it through your ring. Same goes for me but yours is to help me take control while mine is to protect you. Main thing though, your ring is able to hold some of my power. No you cannot use it but it still is powerful so you need to protect it."

We talked more about it then left to get ready for the next day. At some points during the next day I saw my students bullying Jessie. I could feel her coming to her breaking point but out of nowhere she stopped.

She looked at me with confusion. I watched her as she looked down at my ring but then followed her eyes. I didn't notice that I was rubbing it but I let go quickly. The rest of the day it was the same thing over and over but then the end of the day came.

At the end of the day, when everyone was gone, I was working on my desk when out of nowhere Jessie was sitting on my desk.

"What are you doing here?"
"I wanted to ask about the ring, why did you rub it?"
"It's a habit, everytime I feel something around my neck and I'm worried I would rub it. At least you calmed down."
"Do you even read the part about the rings," she asked but I shook my head, "Let's get this straight, the way you rubbed it did not calm me down. Rapidly tapping it would calm me down."
"Then what did rubbing it do," I asked but would soon regret.
"Do you really want to know," she said, grabbing my necklace and pulling me closer.

She was so close but I could still tell that she wasn't focused on my eyes but my lips now. I didn't say anything, it was clear enough. It was her pulling me closer to whisper in my ear that really had me worried. "It turns me on Mrs Alexander and trusts me when I say it is hard to fight. It didn't help that you were basically doing it all day," she whispered sending chills down my spine.

We already promised to not kiss again and she somehow didn't break it but she also told me to never do it again. She sounded so serious to the point where it was terrifying but she left without saying another word.

I leaned back in my chair letting out the breath I didn't know I was holding. Later that night I started to read about the ring.
