A/N: This was the most painful to write of them all, but somehow the easiest. Keefe is number one favorite character, and it's hard to NOT like Keefe. But I'm gonna do it anyways. This was also written on a discord server with the help of lovegoods394.
She had taken her.
Of all the people she had taken her, knowing he would come for her.
And she was right, because Keefe wasted no time grabbing a pathfinder, and leaping to the most obvious place she could go; Candleshade.
Glittering into view, he saw her, Sophie, tied to a pillar.
"COME OUT, I KNOW YOU'RE HERE!" He yelled.
"And put myself out into the open? Why would I do that?" She said, her tone full of amusement, and what had to be fear. It was so clear Keefe didn't need to read her emotions to know this.
"Come out now, or I'll make you." He snapped.
A sigh came behind a closer pillar, and Lady Gisela stepped out. "Is that any way to talk to your mother?"
Keefe scowled. "Let her go"
"You 'heroes' always say that like you showing up and saying we have to let the prisoner go makes us actually let us go. Well I won't be letting her go, so give up and leave."
Keefe sighed. "You never learn, I don't give up." he lunged for Gisela, and opened his eyes long enough to see her pull out a melder and fire. Time seemed to slow down. There was screaming, plenty of screaming. And the feeling of words coming out of his mouth, maybe a curse or words of fear.
Then it all met back up with time, and when the blast hit him in the head,, Keefe collapsed.
His thoughts were fuzzy, and unclear. Everything was slowing down...becoming... unreal.
Right before falling asleep, her managed to let three final words escape: "I love you Foster."
Then nothing.
