Trump was going to have to convince the interviewers to move their schedule to tomorrow. He was on the phone all day trying to contact the right person from the right department, and was stuck on hold for hours. Then finally he found who he needed to talk to, he used his high status and business savvy to get his way. He wished it was that easy to get his way with Pence, he couldn't even deny his feelings anymore.
He still dreamt of Pence and seeing him again even though their last encounter was less than ideal. He needed a way to get Pence alone again, it was so unusual how Pence seemed to change his demeanor on the phone. Trump couldn't help but have hope that maybe just maybe Pence could have feelings for him as well. It was crazy he knew it, but if not for that small bit of hope, he would've gone completely mad by now.
He worked all day, paper work, meetings, boredom, anxiously waiting for tomorrow when he would get to see Pence again.
When tomorrow did come, Trump was terrified, suddenly the thoughts he had yesterday didn't seem to hold up through the night. He thought that he ought to say away from Pence. Why did he willingly throw himself onto Pence whenever he got the chance. He was so tired of feeling afraid, he took a deep breath and let it out. He had to be calm for the interview.
There he was, in the news studio before the show. Pence was standing just across the way. Pence smiled at Trump from afar and Trump smiled back. He approached the three chairs under the stage lights, makeup came over to do some touch ups while the stage hands scrambled around. Trump and Pence took their seats next to the interviewer and they started filming.
It was mostly Trump doing all the talking he'd answer the questions in a bold way and Pence would agree quietly. Trump always managed to put on this incredible confidence for the public eye. It took about two hours before they finished filming. Trump got up and he waited for Pence, they walked out to the lobby together.
Pence sighed still shaken from the interview, he was nervous on camera. "You okay there?" Trump said. "Yeah, yeah I'm glad that's over haha." Trump smiled at him, "Let's celebrate our first interview! The start of our victory over the polls!" Pence laughed "We haven't won yet." Trump enticed him, "You want to go get some food? Pick anywhere I'll pay." Pence was getting hungry so he agreed. They both got into Pence's car and drove around, Trump suggested some very expensive eateries along the way. They ended up going to some high end place downtown.
They were let in through the back to avoid the press, and sat at a secluded table towards the dim back corner of the restaurant. They always found themselves in a romantic setting, it was quiet and away from the rest of the other seating areas. They were right across from one another, Pence was glancing through the menu. Then Trump ordered for the both of them, they talked again but this time it was more personal and relaxed. Pence was starting to come out of his shell, they told jokes and laughed it was an amazing night for Trump and Pence.
Trump didn't want that moment to end. As they waited for the bill it was silent and Trump looked deeply into Pence's hazel green eyes and he stared back with a grin on his face. The waiter arrived back with the bill, Trump paid and they walked out.
"Did you like it?" He asked Pence, "Yeah, we should do it again sometime." They both smiled at each other and went there separate ways.
Trump was in a state of high, it was the most glorious evening ever. Pence was more open and he actually had things to say. But Trump knew he couldn't get ahead of himself, it didn't mean that Pence had feelings for him. He was just being friendly he thought- but the way he longingly gazed over at Trump. No he couldn't let himself get wrapped up in this again, it didn't mean anything.
Trump arrived home to Melania staring him down with grimacing look on her face. "Where were you!?! Come home so late!!!" Trump walked up to Melania and hugged her while she backed away, then sarcastically exclaimed "Oh my most radiant angel, here's my card go buy yourself something nice princess." He tossed her the card and walked off straight to bed. Melania huffed along behind him, "You not answer my question!" He turned around "It was business okay angel." He never knew what went through her head and right now he was much too tired to deal with her antics. She watched angrily as he got in bed and shut off the light. She walked off.
The next morning was blissfully bright, he was hopeful for the new day. He wanted to see Pence again. He wanted to see his radiant eyes and charming smile. But he wasn't sure if it was too early to call him up, he had to tread lightly. So he decided to wait when around 3:00pm he got a phone call. It was Pence.
