♤ Chapter Four ♤

"Where's Okura?" Y/n asked as she put her shoes on at the front door.

"Oh, uh.." Takehiko scratched his head, "I think he went to go buy coffee or something. He said he'll meet us at the subway station though."

"Coffee? Hm, he didn't strike me as the person to need it.." Y/n followed Takehiko out the door, and they lightly conversed but it was mainly a quiet walk. 

They met up with Okura at the station, as they approached him, Y/n gave him an odd glance. His expression was blank, no life to him whatsoever. He had no coffee in his hand, so she assumed he must've drank it already. When they got next to him, his expression quickly shifted.

"Morning! Sorry, I went to the community garden. I do it every so often."

"I thought you went to go get coffee?" Y/n furrowed her brows together.

"Oh!" Okura gasped, "Yes, that too. Sorry again."

"Do you guys ever smell things at your house that are, like.. weird?"

"Hm?" Okura looked at her with a confused expression, bending down a little as he walked, "No, I don't think so. What kind of smells are you talking about?"

"I can't really describe what it smelled like, but one of them made me feel really relaxed and the other made me wake up. It's a bit weird..."

Okura and Takehiko's faces nearly dropped as they exchanged glances. As Y/n walked forward ahead of them, Takehiko grabbed his twin's uniform blazer.

"Could it be..?"

Okura shrugged, "It sounds like it would, since it's not natural..."

She turned around, "If you guys don't mind, I'm gonna go with my friend. That's okay, right?"

Takehiko nodded his head, "Yeah, we gotta wait for Daisuke in the Headmaster's office anyway."

"Alright, see ya!" She grabbed the straps of her bag and took off towards Yamane, "Hey!"

"Where have you been? I tried calling you on your little Barbie phone or whatever, but you never answered me!"

"Oh, sorry.. Last night was insane..!" Y/n rubbed her neck as if it were sore.

"Fill me in, what happened?" Yamane asked probingly.

"When I snuck out of the house, my dad started throwing rocks at me so I just took off towards that forested area-"

"What?! Did he hit you?"

"Yeah, but, it's not that bad. I kept running until I got to the city, and I.. stole some food, but I was caught.." Yamane's jaw dropped while Y/n spoke, and she continued, "..by the Yakuza.."

"The Yaku..? THE YAKUZA!?"

"And their boss offered me a place to stay as long as I.. became bait for them..."

"You're actually the dumbest person alive. What the hell are you thinking?!"

"They have a really nice house! Get this, the Yakuza boss of our city is the Ko twin's older brother."

"Those knuckleheads have a brother that's the leader of the yakuza? Well that was totally unexpected.."

"Yeah! But they're super nice. The Yakuza guy is a bit closed off and their oldest brother is.. scary. But they let me stay with open arms, it's kinda weird."

"Well you gotta be safe, you never know a dude's intentions." Yamane paused, "But how nice is their house?"

"Hella nice."
