                       LYSANDRA

‘The rush of adrenaline racing wild through my veins. Growing hungry for adventure. Searching for the
one thing to quench my appetite. The one thing any man, woman or beast is after; Blood. I wasn’t always
hungry for the warm, thick, rich tasting fluid. About a week before I became a Princess of Darkness, I was once a human being, much like you. I enjoyed sunny days and summer strolls on the beach. My name is Lysandra Darkbloom. I am a vampire and this is my story.’

“Lysandra, you’re gonna be late for the wedding. Alan’s already waiting for you at the altar.”

“Alan’s very sweet. But, do you think he’s actually gonna be happy to be marrying me?”

“Lysa, he wouldn’t have proposed if he didn’t want to marry you.”

‘My younger sister, Rose. She was the one who had set up the wedding before everything happened. She and I were always close. And was named after my mother’s favorite flower; the primrose. She passed not too long after Alan and I had gotten engaged. It was my mother’s final wish that my bridal bouquet would be primroses. Alan and I were supposed to start our lives together, before the day I turned..’

“Alan. You look--”

“Yeah, you look astonishing.” Alan said, taking my hands in his.

‘It was at that moment, my life had changed. I could never go back to how things were, I could never go back to save him. It would be the last time that I would ever see my father and my sister.’

“Lysandra, get back!” Alan yelled, shoving me out of the way

“Alan, you can’t! Don’t leave me..” I paused, tears quickly welling in my eyes

“Know that I’ll never stop loving you..” Alan said, as his heart had been violently torn from his chest

‘I scream in horror, covering my mouth upon seeing my fiancé in blood. A gaping hole in his chest. I see the vampire that was feeding on Alan’s innards charging at me as he is pulled back by his master. Who was bulked up and muscular. I had looked into his dark amber eyes as he had grasped my wrists tightly.’

“Where the hell are you taking me?” I asked

“All your questions will be answered soon. But for now, just keep quiet and enjoy the ride.”

‘I had watched the love of my life get ripped away from me. I felt nothing but sadness and heartbreak from that moment on. That was when I vowed to never fall in love for the rest of my days.’

A FEW DAYS LATER

“I’m glad you’ve finally woken up.”

‘My skin felt cold. I grasped at my throat as if it had been slit. I had an unbearable burning on the inside of my throat, I was gagging although it was completely dried out. The vampire that grabbed me had slowly approached me. Looking at me with his amber colored eyes. He sees me shaking and hands me a silver wine cup. He had also placed a small familiar pendant in my palm, closing my hand.’

“Drink.. It’ll soothe the burning feeling on the inside of your throat.” He said, after turning around

‘Without hesitation, I guzzle the liquid down and my throat stops burning. I gasp as a drop falls from my lower lip. I wince, sticking my tongue out as I look toward him. Wiping my mouth as I rise to my feet.’

“What the hell was that stuff?” I asked, my voice still scratchy

“Blood. The transition from human to vampire is nearly complete. Now, all you have to do is one more thing for me, sweet Lysandra.” He said, his long raven colored hair swaying in the wind like a cape

“What would that be?” I asked.

‘He pulled me close to him, my eyes locked on his. My hand on his cool but rock hard chest. I show no sense of fear, as he pulls me close enough to whisper the last things I heard before my transformation.’

“You have to die.” He said, covering my mouth with one hand, and snapping my neck with the other,
dropping me as I fell lifeless to the hard cold stone floor.

‘I could hear his voice before waking up, like he hadn’t been killed. He was just as handsome as I remembered. Alan was reaching for my hand, as I’m pulled back to the world of the undead.’

“Alan..” I said, gasping as I pull myself to my feet

“You’re awake..” He chuckled

“What the hell..? Where’s Alan?” I asked, looking around

“Alan.. Oh, yes. Your fiancé. We had to bring him to the morgue. But we recovered this from his jacket
pocket.” He said, tossing me the ring box

“It’s your fault he’s dead in the first place!”

“Would you like to see him before we make burial arrangements?” He asked

‘I nod my head, following the leader toward the morgue of their headquarters, I see Alan’s head sticking out of the bodybag where they had left it unzipped. It looked unreal that he was gone. He looked like he was sleeping peacefully.’

“I’ll leave you here.” The leader said, exiting the morgue

“If you hadn’t pushed me away, you’d still be alive. And it would be me inside that bodybag. I’m so sorry this happened to you, Alan. What I wouldn’t give for you to come back to me.” I say, wiping the tears from my face.

‘I run my fingers through his hair, my equally cold hand touching his face. I lean my head down, pressing my lips to his cold forehead, a tear hits it as I lift my head. I sit next to him. Wishing that he would tell me everything would be alright. I longed for him to reach up and dry my tears. My heart began to break all over again.’

“Alan, this wasn’t supposed to happen. I’m sorry that you died because of me. I would give my eternal life just to be with you again. Even if it were only a moment.”

‘I had felt the touch of a hand on my shoulder. I run my fingers up to the wrist, I turn my head to see Alan
appearing in front of me.’
