The two boys sat beside each other, staring at the orange sky with purple hues, the sun setting. The silence felt comfortable but despair tugged at their hearts. Neither knew what to or how to speak to one another.
"H-hey,.." Iwaizumi murmured, glancing at Oikawa, teary-eyed.
"It's okay. I'll be back some day for sure. My mom said it's only for a couple of years." Oikawa reassured him, placing a hand on Iwaizumi's shoulder.
"Y-you're s-sick! You definitely aren't coming back!" Iwaizumi managed to speak, now tears rolling down his face, unable to stop them.
"I promise. I'll come back." Oikawa replied, fighting back his own tears.
Iwaizumi sucked in a deep breath. Both of them looked at each other, smiling.
"Promise you won't forget me, shitty-kawa." Iwaizumi spoke, softly punching Oikawa's shoulder.
"I promise." Oikawa replied, wiping the tears from his face.
