chapter 3- why are you always wondering the halls

the first night at hogwarts was strange to say the least no one in my house really seemed to like me much so i hadn't made any friends but oddly enough i had been told my parents requested a separate room and i don't think it helped my case with making friends. this morning when i awoke it was 5 in the morning so i made my way down to the common room but it was completely empty everyone must still be asleep so i decided to make my way through the school trying to waste time till break feast, i was walking down one of the corridors when i saw a door appear on the wall across from me and i was afraid i was going to get in trouble so i hid behind a wall and then i saw draco walk out and the door  had gone i wore a confused expression but when i went to confront him he was gone which only made me more confused " what are you doing" i heard his voice growling behind me i froze in my spot not daring to turn around until i felt his cold hand grab my waist turning me around to look at him but i couldn't so i stared off to the ground but his hand grasped my chin pulling me toward him " let me ask again what are you doing" he grew angrier by the minute " i-i couldn't sleep so i decided to go for a walk and i thought i heard a teacher coming so i hid but obviously not since your here and not in trouble" i decided to lie i had a bad feeling about what was going on in there and i wasn't prepared to be on his trail, draco had loosened up a bit before letting go and taking a step back " its best that you stay in your dorm when you cant sleep who knows whats lurking through the school" he was looking down at me i hadn't realised until now that i had been holding in my breath " so why are you out and about then" he didn't answer he shook his head and turned away heading in a different direction i didn't dare follow him instead i made my way over to where the door was but it was gone now and i had no idea how to get it back.

everyone had made there way into the great hall the room was now filled with with chatter and laughing but i was stuck sitting on the end of the table staring down at my food that i hadn't touched, i was snapped out of my thoughts by a girl standing infront of me " hi im hermoine granger and you are" i looked up to see a girl with curly hair and dressed in gryiffindoor " lyra, lyra stonewall" the girl smiled at me " i noticed you are new here and you hadn't made any friends yet" i nodded my head " oh yeh um its kinda hard for me to make friends" i gave her a small smile before she returned at look of pity " well we can be friends if you would like" i nodded my head and we began a converstation but in the corner of my eye i saw a rather sad looking draco " hey hermoine whats his deal" i nodded over to draco but hermoines face turned to a scowl " he is a fowl excuse of a human he thinks so highly of himself because hes a pureblood" she spat her description of him with such venom i didn't think he was to bad a dodgy guy yes but not a bad person " well my other friends are here would you like to meet them" she pointed over to two boys one with bright red hair and the other darl hair and glasses i knew he was harry potter anyone could see that a mile away " um no thanks im waiting for someone" i wanted to talk to blaise but he hadn't arrived yet so i got lost in thought again for a while actually and next thing I knew everyone was exiting the hall and making there ways to their first class which I had potions, when I entered the class it wasn't overly large but I saw hermione waving me down to come sit with her so I made my way over making eye contact with draco who was standing on the other side I had been the first to break our gaze away and finally made it to my seat next to hermione "hey" she smiled back at me before our professor gained our attention but he barely got anything in before 2 boys made there way in apologizing for being late I noticed the boys to be hermione's friends she wanted me to meet earlier, we all turned our attention back to sir he had begun talking about a potion called Amortentia it was supposed to smell what you are attracted to I room became filled with the smell of old parchment and ink it reminded me of my father's office sometime I had been aloud in there and would sit in the chairs across from him and read while he worked after a while the smell was cut off as sir had put the lid back on, he then went on to explain the next potion but I zoned out a bit and before I knew it we were brewing the drought of living death, I made my way over to an empty table with all my ingredients when the spot next to me had been filled by none other then draco malfoy I have him a small smile which he had returned before we set off to work draco seemed desperate to finish this potion and I decided I was going to ask him about it after class he looked ill and probably needs to go to the hospital wing.

Harry had won the potion of liquid luck and draco didn't seem to happy about this but by the time we had gotten out of class he was gone. The rest of the day my classes rushed by hermione being in most of them so at least I had someone.

It was now 2 in the morning and I couldn't sleep again so I decided to wonder around a little bit of me hoping to find draco, eventually I had made it up to the astronomy tower when I saw a figure in a black suit standing near the railing I knew it had been draco but I wasn't sure whether or not to bother him I decided against it and went to walk out "why are you always wondering around" well I guess he saw me
