Niall:

My friend and I sat down in the classroom. 'Well, how do you feel about it?' Shay asked me as we put our books onto the table. 'I don't know, I mean it is weird..' I looked at her. '(Y/N), he is your best friend. Why don't you just talk to him?' Last night I told Shay about my conversation with my best friend Niall.  He had been avoiding me for the past few weeks, so I confronted him about it. He told me to back off and just let him be on his own for a few days. 'You're right. I am going to talk to him.' I said as the teacher walked in and started the class.

A few hours later I rang the bell at Niall's house. He opened the door and froze. 'Hi, can we talk?' I asked and waited for him to let me in. We sat down in the kitchen. Niall grabbed us something to drink, but he stayed quiet. 'Is there something wrong? Did I do something?' I began. 'What? Why would you think that?' he said as his eyes widened. 'Come on, Ni. You have been avoiding me for a week now. Normally you talk to me every day.' I held back the tears and waited for him to talk. '(Y/N), it's not you. I mean it is you. But not how you think.' he stuttered. 'It is me? What is it?' He sighed. 'I guess I.. I like you.' The silence between us grew. What? He likes me? 'Please, say something' he said and looked at his hands. 'What do you mean.. Like me?' He looked at me. 'What do you think? I like you. More than a friend.' It took a few minutes before it sank in. 'Oh.' I said, not really knowing what to say. 'I know, it sucks. I don't want to lose you as a friend. How do you feel?' he said, his voice was something more of a whisper. 'I.. Ni, we have been friends for so long. I don't know.' I said. 'Can I suggest something?' he said, looking at me with his bright blue eyes. I nodded. 'How about I take you on a date? If you feel something more than great. If you don't, we will stay friends. Only if you want to.' I looked at him. It was not a bad idea. 'All right. We can do that.'

Louis:

My best friend Louis and I were at a party. He had been drinking quite a bit. '(Y/N)...' he slurred. I laughed as he put his arm around me. 'You are so drunk.' He looked at me, suddenly a lot more sober. 'I am not. Look, I can walk in a straight line.' he let me go and tried to walk a straight line. Tried is the keyword. I laughed as he almost fell over his own feet. 'Come on, let me take you home.' I said and led him out of the house. I helped Louis into the car and walked over to the driver seat. 'You know what I like about you?' he said, his eyes closed. 'What?' I smirked at him. 'Everything. You're so kind, funny, likeable. Do you know that?' he said. I laughed. 'Sure.' 'I am serious (Y/N). You are. You just don't see it. Everybody likes you.' he looked over at me. 'Louis, you are drunk.' He sighed some silent disagreement and dozed off.

'Lou, we are here.' I said as I woke him. We walked to his house and I opened the door. Louis was very tired and heavy. I finally got him to bed and let him lay down. '(Y/N)..' he said as he laid down. I looked at him, he couldn't be alone tonight. I will sleep over in the guest room. 'Stay.' he whispered. 'I will. If you need me I'll be in the guestroom.' A few minutes later I laid in bed. The door opened and there stood Louis. 'We need to talk.' he said. I looked at him. 'We can do that tomorrow. You need to sleep.' He shook his head. 'No, we need to talk now. I won't say it tomorrow.' I sighed and pulled back the cover. 'Fine, come here.' Louis laid down and sighed. 'I need to tell you something. But you can't talk until I am done. Promise.' He stared at the ceiling. I nodded. 'Okay, here goes nothing. I like you. Not just as a friend. I really do like you. I want to be with you. I know you don't feel the same way, or at least you haven't been thinking about me in that way. But now you know.' he stood up and walked over to the door. 'Lou, where are you going?' I asked, stunned by his confession. 'I am going to bed. You were right. We'll talk tomorrow.' he said and grabbed the doorknob. 'No. Come back. We need to talk now. You can't just drop a bomb like that and then leave.' He sighed and walked over to the bed. He sat down and didn't look at me. I sat up and looked at him. 'Lou, are you serious?' He nodded. 'Look, I do like you. But our friendship, it's not something I want to lose.' I said. He looked up at me. 'So what are you saying?' I sigh. 'I am saying that if we really want to give this a shot, we need to take it slow and carefully.' His eyes lit up. 'Are you serious?' I nodded and he hugged me. 'I'm so glad I didn't wait till tomorrow.'
