Niall:

I feel so bad. I have been a terrible friend to (Y/N). She is reaching out and I am ignoring everything from her. It all started a few weeks ago. One day I looked at (Y/N) and then it hit me. She is everything I have ever wanted. She is the best person in my life, my best friend. Maybe even more than that.. But I don't want to ruin our friendship, so I needed to get some distance between us. Last week (Y/N) confronted me about it, she asked me why I had been avoiding her. I didn't know what to do so I just told her to back off and let me be for a few days. And so she did.

The doorbell rang which brought me back to reality. I stood up and walked over to the door. As I opened the door I saw her standing there. Beautiful as ever. 'Hi, can we talk?' she said and just looked at me. I nodded and let her in. We sat down in the kitchen and I grabbed her a drink. 'Is there something wrong? Did I do something?' she said. This is going all wrong, how can she think it's her fault? 'What? Why would you think that?' I ask her and feel my eyes widen. Tears glistered in her eyes. 'Come on, Ni. You have been avoiding me for a week now. Normally you talk to me every day.' It pains me that I made her feel like this. '(Y/N), it's not you. I mean it is you. But not how you think.' I hear myself stuttering. Shit, this only makes it worse. 'It is me? What is it?' she just looks at me. I sigh, time for the truth. 'I guess I.. I like you.' There is only silence between us. (Y/N) takes a breath and says 'What do you mean.. Like me?' I look at her, doesn't she get it? 'What do you think? I like you. More than a friend.' It takes a few minutes before she says 'Oh'. See, she doesn't feel the same. 'I know, it sucks. I don't want to lose you as a friend. How do you feel?' I whisper. I really need to know if I messed everything up. 'I.. Ni, we have been friends for so long. I don't know.' she says and it feels like someone punched me in the face. Suddenly I get an idea. 'Can I suggest something?' I say and she nods. 'How about I take you on a date? If you feel something more, great. If you don't, we will stay friends. Only if you want to.' She looks at me and I can feel the tension grow. 'All right. We can do that.' she says. I swear, I never felt better than right now.

Louis:

(Y/N) and I were at a party. It was fun, we haven't been to a party in ages. I know I had too much to drink, but hey, it's a party. I looked at (Y/N) and the feeling I have had for a few weeks burns within me. I really do like (Y/N), but we have been friends for so long. '(Y/N)...' I say to her and put my arm around her. She laughs and looks back at me. 'You are so drunk.' I am not drunk, let's show her. 'I am not. Look, I can walk in a straight line.' I let her go and walk a straight line. The line is moving, that is not my fault! 'Come on, let me take you home.' (Y/N) says and she takes my hand. She helps me into the car and sits down in the driver seat. I close my eyes. 'You know what I like about you?' I say. I can hear her smirk as she says 'What?' 'Everything. You're so kind, funny, likeable. Do you know that?' I sigh and she laughs. 'Sure.' She doesn't take this seriously. 'I am serious (Y/N). You are. You just don't see it. Everybody likes you.' I look over at her. 'Louis, you are drunk.' she says and I sigh. My eyes feel heavy and I doze off.

'Lou, we are here' I hear (Y/N) say and open my eyes. We walk into my house and she opens the door. I lay down on the bed and I feel the need to tell her to stay. '(Y/N)...' She looks down at me. 'Stay' I whisper. She smiles 'I will. If you need me I'll be in the guestroom.' I lay here thinking about her. This isn't right, I need to tell her. I stand up and walk over to the guestroom. 'We need to talk' I say as I open the door. She looks at me. 'We can do that tomorrow. You need to sleep.' No I need to do it right now. I shake my head 'No, we need to talk now. I won't say it tomorrow.' She sighs and pulls away the cover. 'Fine, come here.' I lay down beside her and sigh. 'I need to tell you something. But you can't talk until I am done. Promise.' I stare at the ceiling and feel her nodding her head.  'Okay, here goes nothing. I like you. Not just as a friend. I really do like you. I want to be with you. I know you don't feel the same way, or at least you haven't been thinking about me in that way. But now you know.' I have poured everything out. I stand up and walk over to the door. 'Lou, where are you going?' she asks and I turn around. 'I am going to bed. You were right. We'll talk tomorrow.' 'No. Come back. We need to talk now. You can't just drop a bomb like that and then leave.' she says and looks at me. She's right. I walk over to the bed and sit down. She sits up and looks at me. 'Lou, are you serious?' she asks and I nod. She sighs. 'Look, I do like you. But our friendship, it's not something I want to lose.' she says. 'What are you saying?' I ask her and she sighs again. 'I am saying that if we really want to give this a shot, we need to take it slow and carefully.' Did I hear this right? She feels the same way? 'Are you serious?' She nods and I hug her. She hugs me back. 'I'm so glad I didn't wait till tomorrow.'
