Me- Bro, I already miss you so much
Bae- Me too bruh, I can’t believe you left on such short notice
Me- Me neither bro, I didn’t even get to see your new cat
Bae- I hope we don’t have to do this long-distance thing for long, it’s torture
Me- Ugh, especially because…
    Bae- ???
Me- Nvm, it’s not important

The entire trip was complete boredom to Dean. He had to go the whole way listening to his grandma’s stupid christian country music, and her and his Dad’s constant bickering over whether or not Casting Crowns has the best music. He spent the entire time looking out the window, calling ‘cow’ or ‘horse’ whenever he saw them. He also spent half that time waiting for his turn to listen to music, because he and his sister had to ‘learn to share’ and there was only one working earbud, but he had bought those earbuds. Two thirds of the way there they had to pull up at a rest stop, because of Jo’s ‘lady problems’. From that point on it was countryside, this was bad for Dean, because now he lost his data, and he couldn’t just waste his time listening to grunge . Having nothing to do, he fell asleep.

A soft fire crackled on the ground as Dean and his sister played around the campsite, catching beetles and climbing logs while their mom and dad stayed beside the fire. Their dad was mesmerized by the song their mom was singing. “ ♪♫ Gile mear sa seal faoi chumha Gus Éire go léir faoi chlocaí dhubha Suan ná séan ní bhfuaireas féin Ó luadh i gcéin mo ghile mear♪♫." Dean looked up at his mother, in the light of the campfire she looked like a goddess, not just some attorney from Georgia “ Mommy?” she looked down at him “ Yes?” he smiled “ I love you” she smiled back softly “ Táim i ngrá leat freisin.” She looked down at him, her eyes reflecting the light of the fire, except, that wasn't the light of the fire, her eyes were glowing a bright green color, she stared down at him and smiled softly as he backed away "My baby…"

He woke up in a cold sweat. That was the third time he had that dream this week. That was long before their mom had died two years ago, and how he hated remembering that. Every time he thought of her it felt like his stomach ruptured and the acid was running through his body. "You're awake, right on time, where do you wanna go, Chick-fil-a or Subway?" "First of all, Chick-fil-a is homophobic, second of all, isn't today Sunday?" She stared at him " Oh. Yeah." she turned back to the front “Subway it is then”

After stopping to eat it was smooth sailing, no more interruptions. No more talking either. Both the twins and their dad were on their phones the rest of the way, while their Grandmother was humming different tunes. At one point she saw a raccoon on the road. She ran right over it . Nobody seemed to notice.
Once they made it to the farm, the sun had almost gone down. They poured out of the car like water. "How long was that ride?” Dean complained "About four hours" replied his grandmother "Fo- what- how- why?!" He struggled, raising his arms in protest "Well, there were multiple accidents, plus I took the long route, for extra family bonding time" she said surprisingly proud of herself. He glared at her. "Oh, don't look at me like that, I haven't seen you in years" he rolled his eyes and walked away. The rows of raspberry bushes seemed to glow in the light of dusk as they walked through them to get to the farmhouse. "I'm so tired" Jolyne complained " My legs are aching" she looked around, picked a raspberry, and popped it in her mouth " You said you hated raspberries" she looked at him " First of all, I said I hated the smell of raspberries, second of all, why were you reading my diary" he averted his eyes. She popped another one in her mouth "Mhmm"
A few raspberry fields later they made it to their grandmother's house. As they entered the woody smell of the house entered their noses. "I get the attic room!" Jolyne shouted "I thought dad got that room" "Not anymore" she grinned and took her bags up the stairs. "Well, I'm getting the downstairs guest room, it's closest to the bathroom" his dad imparted. "Wait, but that only leaves the one upstairs next to the laundry room, and that one has roaches'' Dean frowned "Not anymore, we got rid of those along with the termites eating the wood" his grandmother stated "at least, I think so…" he sighed and headed up the stairs "I'm gonna take a shower" "Ok but remember dinner's at nine!" She shouted after him.
