~Dear diary, I can not deal with this, first my grandma starts with her annoying questions, and then my very own twin brother doesn’t believe me that a teacher is a potential creep because he’s too busy being an idiot to notice. Well, at least this week of school is finally over and I can relax. That jet lag really had me this week. I made a few friends at least. Well, Dean made friends while I tagged along, the nicest one was this girl named Kenny (I have no idea what it’s short for, she’s from Dean’s art class). She hangs out with me during lunch, although I don't really talk to her, but she shows me memes and I laugh and I help her with her math homework. Dad has been stressing about everything though, he seems to have lost his job applications and is going to have to reapply. I’d be happy, that would mean less need to embarrass myself. Anyways, I have chores to do (who knew I’d have so many more chores now).~
Jo got up from her bed and went outside into the raspberry fields, when she remembered the baggy she was supposed to hide for her dad. She decided to bury it at the edge of the raspberry field, right next to the forest, the farthest place possible to her grandma's house. She forgot to bring a shovel so she used her hands, and buried it about 2 feet deep. She was about to go back to doing her chores, when she saw a glowing green light in the woods next to her. She looked at it and was thoroughly confused on where it was coming from, which led her to head towards it of course.
When she came to where the light was coming from there was a huge clearing that was almost perfectly circular and when she looked at where the light was coming from she saw… fireflies. This wasn’t such an odd sight, it was evening and it was getting dark so it made sense that fireflies were coming out. She was really hoping it was something more though. She suddenly got a cold feeling down her spine, like someone was watching her. Out of nowhere, she felt an arm on her back, she whipped her head around to see a small girl, maybe even a foot shorter than her, smiling at her. She took her hand off her shoulder to wave “ Hi, what are you doing out here in the woods?” relieved that it wasn’t a creep in the woods, she sighed “ Why so tense?” she asked, still smiling. “I’m deep in the woods with nobody around, that’s why” then she noticed she really WAS deep in the woods, while maybe two seconds ago she could see the farm and even smell the raspberries, now she could barely see past the bramble of the branches behind her. “That weird…” she whispered “What’s weird?” the small girl bounced around the clearing, clearly wanting Jo’s attention “ I was just next to a field of raspberries and now i have no idea where I am” she wondered whether she could have wandered this far in her daze looking at the fireflies “Wait, what are you doing this deep in the woods?” the girl looked at her even more amused now “My family is neighbours with yours” the girls head started to bob, her raven-black hair reflecting the green light of the fireflies “I was told we didn’t have neighbours for miles” she stopped smiling “You don’t” Jo began to sweat cold “So then why are you here?” the girl smiled again “This is my family's land, you came here” Jo began to step back “ You must’ve come a long way” the girl said “I can take you back if you want” Jo nodded slowly. Promptly the little girl closed her eyes “You close yours too” she said.
All at once Jo woke up head on a tree, the fireflies circling her and even landing on her head, she looked back and sure enough, there were the raspberry fields. She stood up, still drowsy from that oddly real dream, and headed back to the fields to do her chores.
