"Are you kidding?!" Christine Hayes yelled, "I ain't gonna be a diversion for you Charlie! You know I can't sit still when I'm about to have a fight with them bloomin' traps!" At seeing how much his half-sister was worked up Charlie Brown sighed then said
"Calm down! I ain't gonna do it either, so tell me what's wrong with it and what should be changed." Christine was still huffing and puffing with frustration so she yelled
"The whole bloomin' plan should b-" she was cut off by gun shots and the sound of sticks snapping and cracking under the hard hooves of some animal. "CRACK!" a loud gunshot echoed around the dark, damp valley, then Charlie let off a loud groan of pure agony as his blood poured from a wound in his shoulder. Christine helped him onto his frightened grey horse, Gideon and then mounted her bay horse, Cara. She and Charlie raced off into the scrub just as it started to pour large, cold raindrops that reminded the bushrangers that at any moment they could be shot dead.
