as hongjoong and seonghwa walk toward the library, they both receive a lot of looks from students. especially from kids that know and crush on hongjoong. seonghwa just ignores them—he learned how to back when he became the 'nerd' of the school. hongjoong on the other hand doesn't know how to ignore the looks, so he glares back at everyone who's staring at them.
once they're a few feet away from the library, a crowd of five girls stop in from hongjoong and seonghwa. the oldest curses under his breath.
"hi, hongjoong-oppa!" the first one greets with a bright smile, but seonghwa immediately knows she's fake.
"hi, girls," hongjoong returns with his signature flirtatious smile. "what can i do for ya?"
"where are you going?" the second girl asks.
"to the library," hongjoong replies honestly.
the third girl gags. "why would you go to that horrendous place? it's filled with weirdos."
"yeah, you should go with us instead," the fourth girl adds.
"i'm sorry, but hongjoong has an important project to do," seonghwa steps in, tired of the girls wasting their time. "so unless you girls want to do it for him, leave us alone."
"who asked you?" the fifth girl snaps, glaring at seonghwa.
"no one, but no asked you guys to get into our business," he shoots back.
"oppa!" the first girl whines, thinking hongjoong is going to defend them.
but instead, surprising the girls and seonghwa, hongjoong chuckles, and wraps his arm around seonghwa's waist, pulling him closer. "i'm sorry, girls, but you heard hwa."
the second girl's mouth drops in shock. "are you two dating?"
"not your business," hongjoong replies. he winks at the five girls as he leads seonghwa toward the library, his arm still around his waist. "see you later, girls." the five girls are left there flabbergasted, whilst seonghwa is trying to hide back his laugh and the blush on his cheeks. he tries to ignore hongjoong's arm still around him as they walk inside the library. "okay, so what do we need to do first?"
"get all the english books you can find," he orders, "and then come meet me at a table around the computers."
hongjoong nods. "yes, sir."
seonghwa smiles, and he walks toward the computer section of the library. he, fortunately, sees an empty desk, and takes his backpack off, placing it down on one of the chairs. he takes out the notes he has for english and waits for hongjoong to come back.
hongjoong does ten minutes later, carrying a stack of ten books. once seonghwa notices him, his eyes widen, and he is quick to stand up to help hongjoong with the books.
"here, let me help you," seonghwa says as he reaches for some of the books.
hongjoong pulls them out of his reach. "thanks for the help, but i don't need it. i'm a strong man."
"are you sure?" seonghwa asks. "i don't want you to get hurt."
as soon as those words leave his lips, seonghwa turns a bright shade of red, and he bites his tongue as hard as he can for letting it release those words. hongjoong stares at seonghwa amused but lets out a smile as he walks toward the table, placing the books down.
"nice of you to care, park," he says. "now what do we start on first?"
"w-whichever one is fine," seonghwa mutters, clearing his throat. "what's your project about?"
"shakespeare," hongjoong sighs, sitting in front of seonghwa. "luckily, yong-sun and i got romeo and juliet, so we have to make a poster board of their love, a presentation of facts about them, and more about their love."
"that's easy," he says.
"for you," hongjoong frowns. "you're smart, and you love to read, you big nerd."
"hey," seonghwa complains, kicking hongjoong's shin underneath the table—but softly.
hongjoong traps seonghwa's foot with his own, pulling him closer. "don't kick me, baby boy. it'll go really bad for you if you do it again."
seonghwa feels his face heat up a million degrees, and he immediately averts eye contact. he hears hongjoong chuckle, which makes him want to kick hongjoong again. but he doesn't, and clears his throat instead. "l-let's get started."
for the next fifty minutes, hongjoong and seonghwa spend it working on the project. hongjoong lets seonghwa do most of the work, touches him in ways he shouldn't in a public place, whispers dirty things in his ear, or places kisses on his neck. seonghwa tries to focus, and make hongjoong focus, but hongjoong makes it difficult.
thankfully, seonghwa somehow gets hongjoong to be serious, and focus on his project. thirty minutes later, they are almost done with the presentation, when they hear footsteps approach them from behind.
"hongjoong?"
the male and seonghwa look up at the mention of hongjoong's name, noticing a blonde wearing a black lacy v-neck crop top and denim ripped shorts.
yong-sun.
"yong-sun," hongjoong says, standing up. "w-what are you doing here? i thought you had already left."
"sorry," solar apologizes. "my last teacher held me back and scolded my class and me for a good hour. are you working on the project?"
"yeah," hongjoong replies. "seonghwa's helping me."
at the mention of seonghwa, solar finally realizes seonghwa is here, too, and averts her eyes from hongjoong to look at seonghwa. a small smile grows on her face. "hi, seonghwa."
"h-hi," he returns.
solar smiles at seonghwa, before she looks back at hongjoong. "well, i'm here now. you want to work on the project at my house, and get a coffee?"
"sure," he immediately agrees. "let me just get my stuff."
solar nods and hongjoong turns around to pack up his stuff in his backpack. he doesn't even spare seonghwa a glance, calling out "bye, park!" as he follows behind solar out of the library.
