seonghwa leaves yeosang's house calmly, and when he's fifteen feet away, that's when he starts sprinting toward the bus stop. he still has money, so he puts it in the machine, before going to sit down.
seonghwa pants slightly, trying to catch his breath. he places his bag on his lap, wondering why yunho told him to get out of yeosang's house. the bus soon stops again, and two more people walk inside: an old married couple. they sit in front of seonghwa, but two seats away. however, the husband stares at seonghwa creepily. seonghwa gives the old male a nervous smile, before he quickly looks away, feeling uncomfortable.
thankfully, the bus soon stops, and, as seonghwa looks up, he realizes he's in yunho's block. he thanks the bus driver, before getting out of the bus. seonghwa walks a few meters before he arrives in front of yunho's house. taking a deep breath, seonghwa walks up the porch and rings the doorbell. a few seconds later, yunho opens the door.
"hi, hyung," he greets, suyeon in his arms.
"ha!" she squeals, leaning over so she can be in seonghwa's arms.
"hey, sweetie," he coos, accepting her in his arms.
"come in," yunho invites, and seonghwa walks inside the house after thanking him. he follows yunho upstairs, and the three arrive in the male's room.
"why did you say yeosang is bad news?" seonghwa asks, sitting down on yunho's bed, with suyeon on his lap.
"he's in a gang," yunho says in a blank tone, surprising seonghwa. "he's killed people before, hyung. innocent people."
"h-how do you know?"
"because jimin-hyung told me. he's in the same gang."
"oh," seonghwa mutters. "b-but yeosang wouldn't do anything to people that go to the same school as him."
"that's what he wants you to think."
"talking about?" suyeon questions, tilting her head in confusion.
"we're talking about...what we're going to eat," seonghwa lies.
suyeon's eyes widen. "ice cweam!"
"suyeon, you had ice cream yesterday," yunho sighs.
"so?" suyeon frowns.
seonghwa laughs. "you heard her, yunho. come on then, suyeon. let's go get ice cream!"
"yay!" she squeals as she follows behind seonghwa to the kitchen.
--
the next day at school, seonghwa is surprised that he doesn't see yeosang. maybe what yunho told me was true, after all, seonghwa thinks to himself, looking down at the ground as he walks toward his locker. for looking down, he bumps into someone harshly.
"watch where you're going, stupid," the person snaps.
"you weren't watching where you were going either," seonghwa shoots back, but his eyes widen when he realizes he bumped into a familiar male.
"so?" he scowls. "i'll shove my-" the male then stops once he realizes he's talking with seonghwa. "oh, it's just you."
seonghwa rolls his eyes. "hi to you, too."
"hey," hongjoong returns. he turns to his buddies, assuring them they'll catch up later. his buddies glare at seonghwa, and he glares back, so hongjoong's buddies walk away. "have you seen yong-sun anywhere? i can't find her."
seonghwa totally doesn't feel jealous when hongjoong says he's been looking for solar. "no, i haven't seen her. w-why are you even looking for her, anyway?"
"why do you care?" he asks, looking at seonghwa. hongjoong smirks and takes a step closer to seonghwa. "are you...jealous, park?"
"pfft, no," he scoffs. "i'm just asking a simple question."
"we have a project to do for english," hongjoong sighs, running his fingers through his hair. "we're partners, too, and we agreed to meet up yesterday, but she canceled. she hasn't been replying to my texts or calls, either."
"someone's clingy," seonghwa mutters.
hongjoong glares at seonghwa. "i'm serious, park."
"i'm sure she's sleeping," he sighs. "all girls like her are these days. don't worry too much, kim. i'm sure she's fine."
"you sure?" he frowns.
"i'm sure. do you need help with your project?"
"yeah."
"let's go to the library then," seonghwa says with a smile, and hongjoong finds himself thinking about how pretty seonghwa's smile looks.
"o-okay," hongjoong agrees, and he follows behind seonghwa to the library.
