"Ugh god this class is so boring!" Katsuko, aka my best friend, groaned as they rested their head on their desk. I sighed and giggled, closing my sketchbook and placing it into my bag.
"I don't know, art isn't that boring." I said as I packed away the rest of my things. "Besides it's better than history classes. Or have you forgotten about the workload that Riko keeps complaining about?"
The two of us smiled at the small joke as we stood from our desks and made our way out to the small coffee shop we do every Friday afternoon.
"Okay fair. But seriously! We have to find what's basically called a muse and create like a signature image art piece thing based on them?" Katsuko groaned again and adjusted their bag straps.
"Just do it on that pro hero you like, what was her name? Froppy?" I teased, the perks of one of your best friends being pansexual/ bisexual is you can tease them about everyone they are talking to. Or in this case, their celebrity crush.
"Shut up you!" A light whack on the back of my head and a side death stare.
"Never!" I then make a run for it all the way to the cafe in hopes of not getting my ass beat if I order their favourite drink when they catch up. I finally made it to the counter, and slightly out of breathe I ordered Katsuko's and my own favourite drink, along with some sweet small confections of course.
The slightly aggressive ring of the door bell caught my attention.
"No fair! I promised I'd pay this week!" Katsuko trudged over to me and then together we walked over to our usual table next to the window. On a late afternoon, we get such a beautiful view of the sky and sometimes the often glance of pro heroes jumping from rooftops on patrol.
"Do you know who your gonna do?"
"Huh? Sorry I zoned out again." I shook my head and faced Katsuko.
"The art project? Who are you going to do?" I thought for a moment, I didn't really have anyone that inspires me, nor did I look up to any heroes. After a few more minutes of silent thinking I turned back to Katsuko with a smile.
"Nope!" I said popping on the 'p' and thanked the employee who just brought out our drinks and snacks. I watched as they nodded and walked off to help other customers.
"A spice chai latte as always, right?" I asked Katsuko as I took a sip of my own drink. The person across from me just hummed and slightly bowed their head as thanks. I giggled lightly and placed my mug down, still wrapping my fingers around the warmth of the cup. As I looked out the window a large explosion was set off and clear yelling, off in the background an alarm was going off.
In an attempt not to panic, I looked over at Katsuko only to see a villain fly thorough the window on the opposite side of the cafe. My eyes widened and I began to officially panic, first order of business was quickly shoving our drinks to the side and tackling Katsuko to the ground to stay out of the way of the over-passing villain.
"SHIT! Are you good?" I rushed, sitting up onto my knees and getting off Katsuko.
"Yeah, we should dip!" Katsuko got to their feet and pulled me up on the way. The two of us followed the crowd towards the back exit. Another explosion shook the small building, causing it to shake and me to fall. I landed on my knees, unfortunately scrapping them and having to bare with the stinging pain. I got up and headed to the back door but to my luck it was now blocked off from the ceiling which fell in front of it. Which only left me one exit, the front entrance.
"Shit..." I turned and made my way to the front of the cafe, I ducked down when I saw the explosion hero, Dynamite, battling a nomu. I continued to curse under my breathe and tried to calm myself down and think of a way out of this god damn building without being seen and put in danger. I scanned the area, hoping for a path with cover; I sighed when there wasn't a safe way out. Meaning, I just had to make a run for it; so I did.
