"Wow! Congratulations on your victory, Yuta! Everyone was astonished with that victory kick of yours."

A reporter came towards me after my team won the football league in Brazil.

"As the MVP of your team, what keeps you motivated all throughout the game?"

I can't stop myself from smiling from the question asked.

The reporte put the mic near my mouth, motioning me to speak up.

"Ummm, that would be my twins. They've been my constant motivation to do better in the field."

The reporter smiled as well.

"What is your message for your twins who might be watching you from home?"

I looked directly at the camera.

"Hi there my lovely twins. Yuki and Shinoa. Daddy won again. Just wait a little longer, I'll be home very soon. I love you both."

After the interview, my whole team went to a meat restaurant and celebrated our victory.

I've been so excited to go back to Japan. My 2-year- old twins would be glad to see me again.

A week has passed, it is my flight back to Japan. Carrying my huge suitcase filled with toys that my kids would love, I couldn't contain my happiness.

But alongside the happiness is a glint of pain.

I get to see her again. It's been two years since we've been together.

My feet felt heavy as soon as the plane safely landed at Japan's airport.

When I was at the arrival area, there were lots of people cheering and waiting for me.

They gave me gifts, flowers and showed me the banner that they made for our team. Everyone was delighted with the victory that we brought to the country.

After a short meet and greet with our fans, a car was waiting for me.

When I opened the door, my mother welcomed me with open arms.

I embraced her tightly.

"Musuko yo, watashi wa anata o totemo hokori ni omoimasu. Okaerinasai"

[Translation: I am so proud of you, son. Welcome home.]

"Arigatō, okāsan.

[Translation: Thank you, mom.]

While on our way to my mother's home, she shared a lot of stories about my children.

It made me tear up a bit.

I've been missing them since I went to Australia to train and traveled to Brazil for the competition. It was almost a year ago.

Leaving them is the hardest decision I've ever made after becoming a father.

I almost declined my team because I don't want to miss my children's growth. But my mother convinced me and told me that I need to work to be able to provide for my twins.

Sacrificing is a must if you want to give your family the best things they deserve.

I looked outside the window of my car. My uncle was the one driving us.

I can already see the huge white gate. I'm finally here.

As soon as I got out of the car, I went inside the house.
