Jaemin's POV

She was once my dream,
A maiden that is vestal and full of love
She was once like an aesthetic dove,
Flying free from the verdict's stream.
Thy precious maiden, so delicate as she may seem ~

[A/N: Please imagine the poem as lyrics + this is originally made by me and an example of petrarchan sonnet poetry ▪︎-▪︎]

I was diligently finishing a lyric which I dedicate to the lone painting of a woman I saw in the museum last week.

While on a museum trip with some college friends, a certain painting piqued my interest.

It was a maiden sitting under a huge tree, lone tears in her eyes while looking out of nowhere.

This is who I am. I like making songs which are either for the university band or for my own consumption. I don't sing in public nor perform any of my songs for everyone to hear.

I dislike public attention as I get tense and awkward. What I only do is create songs and serve as a demo for future production.

Some treat and call me "nerd", maybe because I was too awkward around other people and alone with books most of the time.

I don't really care how people would refer to me. As long as I get to write a song that expresses my emotions or sparked my admiration, I am content and happy.

Yet bolder and firm, I who coveted her love
Thy sweet maiden I archly want to have,
Here, hold my hand and we'll both gleam ~

But it seems like fate has its own plan for me.

I will never forget the day I met her in the library while I was trying to find a book of my interest.

As our eyes met, an unexplained feeling exploded inside me. My heart starts to frantically beat. The people walking around the shelves seemed to have disappeared. I know I have to look away but when she smiled at me, I could not help myself but to smile back.

For the first time in my life, I never felt the tension and wanted to run away. Just as at that moment, I have to stay still and admire her beauty.

Sweet songs kept playing in my mind. She's gorgeous.

"Hi." She greeted me.

I nodded.

"You seem to like reading literature books" she whispered to avoid getting called out by the librarian.

"Uhm, yeah. You?" I responded, a bit awkward.

We started some small talk until she left for her upcoming class.

Everything is so fast between us. I went to sit at my usual spot in the library. I was zoned out for a second before I realized we exchanged numbers.

Few weeks have passed and she likes hanging around with me. Some of the students keep their eyes on us.

I am aware that they find us weird being together and hanging out on campus. But, I couldn't complain more because I grew fond of her.

She seems like a nice person, and pretty.

"These are so good, Jaemin-ah!" Brianna tapped my hand as she put down the notes for another song I am making.

"Really? Isn't it too cheesy for a confession song?" I asked, looking directly at her eyes,
