Finally! I was finally going to Hogworts! Amazing, isn't it? I was very well prepared. My books, check. My robes, check. My wand, check. My pet, check. My everything, check.
I was just as excited as my favorite cousin, Cedric Diggory was on his first day to Hogworts.
"Everything's on place, right, hunny?" Nervously, my mom says, fiddling with her fingers before I nodded with a big smile, adjusting my hairband. "Cedric will lead you the way in, my darling. Make sure to stay close to him..." uncle Amos cheerfully says, checking the time. "Alright, everyone!" I excitedly clapped my hands, the cold breeze brushing against my small figure.
"Oh, it's almost time." Cedric says, grabbing hold of his luggage. "Y/n, follow me in. Do as I do, okay?" He says with a smile, making me nod as I watched him run through the wall to Platform 9 3/4.
"Woah..." my eyes widen in amazement, loving it. "Okay, hear I go! Bye, uncle and mom!" I wave them good bye before taking a few steps back, then running as fast as I can into the wall.
I shut my eyes tight, hoping I didn't hit the walk or something, but guess what? I didn't.
I was in platform 9 3/4. It looked...beautiful. Witches and wizards loading their trunks in, parents watching their children leave, the train, everything looked so unrealistic. I've always wanted to go to Hogworts.
"Ready?" Smiling, Cedric says, ruffling my hair. "HEY! I brushed it nicely this morning, don't mess it up." I said, giving my stupid, yet favorite cousin a glare. He chuckles, grabbing my hand before walking towards the train.
"You get in first, I'll load your trunk in." I nod, handing Cedric my trunk before stepping in the train. I look around in amazement, observing every single details.
It felt like a dream come true, everything felt so unbelievable. I've always wanted to be a great witch, do all sorts of magic, be admired by others. And this is the first step, I'm finally going to Hogworts!
"Hey, quit daydreaming." I flinch, hearing a soft, smooth voice right behind me. I turn around to see who it is, but tilt my head to the side, not knowing who the heck he is.
Blonde white hair, looking really oily, he had the hogworts robe as well. He was about an inch taller than me. I'm thinking he's a first year as well?
Hands on his hips, the boy talks once again, his chin raised up. "First year as well?" Says the boy, brushing the tip of his nose with his index finger. "Yeah, yeah, first year." I said, nodding.
"Good. I'm Draco. Draco, Malfoy." He reaches his hand out to have a polite handshake as I nod, accepting it before showing him a small smile, shaking his hand back. "I'm Y/n Saffron Sykes."
Maybe, this is a beginning of a good, nice friendship!
•••
Nope. Definitely not. This is not the beginning of a good friendship. Gosh, why the hell did I even sit next to this guy? Can he not shut his mouth? Why does he keep on talking, bragging about his family, especially his father. He says that he's a pure-blood, well, I'm a pure-blood as well!
"And you know, Sykes, my father is the most amazing wizard I've ever seen! He once did the patronus charm to protect his fellow employee, isn't it amazing, Y/n?"
Gosh, I think this is the 3rd time he said that.
"Oh, yeah, very amazing" I said in a sarcastic tone, rolling my eyes. But he doesn't seem to notice it, so he huffs, proudly, looking out the window.
"Oh, Y/n, there you are!" I quickly turn around to see my lovely cousin Cedric, standing there with some candy in his hand. "Cedric!" I shout excitedly, finally feeling escaped from this annoying self absorbed boy sitting in front of me.
"Come, sit!" I pat the seat next to me as Cedric nods, walking in before sitting next to me, hanging me the candy he bought. "Sour slugs, my favorite! Thanks, Ced" I said before opening the bag, taking a bite of the very sour candy.
"Sykes?" The blonde annoying boy ruins my mood by calling my name, making Cedric look at me, then him. "Oh, you've got yourself a new friend, Y/n!" He says in an excited tone, knowing that his amazing, smart, beautiful cousin who's very introverted finally made a friend.
"What, Draco?" I ask, mentally rolling my eyes once again, taking a bite of another sour slug. "Who is this guy?" He asks, pointing at Cedric.
"Oh, me?" Cedric answers instead of me.
Thank you, my favorite cousin.
"Yes, you." Draco's eyes pierce into a thin lines, observing Cedric while he let's out a quite chuckle, then introducing himself.
"I'm Cedric Diggory, Y/n's cousin."
Why does he have to introduce himself to him? It's not like we're gonna be friends, anyway.
"Oh, I'm Draco Malfoy, pure-blood." Says Draco, patting his oily hair.
Gosh, why does he always have to mention his status? It's not everything, is it? But being a pure-blood does have a lot of advantages.
"Oh, you're a Malfoy? Nice to meet you then, Mr. Malfoy" Cedric says with that kind Hufflepuff smile of his as Malfoy nods proudly.
I hope I get into Hufflepuff. I just hope I don't get into the same house as him, he's so annoying! Besides, it would be much easier for me to be in the same house as Cedric.
"Excuse me, but have you seen a toad?" All 3 of our attention runs towards the small girl near the wooden door.
She had very sharp pronunciation. A really messy, not so nice hair, she stood with a clean Hogworts robe and tie.
"A boy named Neville had lost his toad, let me know if you saw a toad!" She says before closing the door, Cedric nodding at her with a smile before she walks away.
"I heard she's a muggle-born" Annoying Malfoy says, nodding as himself as I rolled my eyes for the thousandth time, earning a chuckle from Cedric.
"Dear students of Hogworts, please make sure to wear your robes and everything you need. We will be arriving at Hogworts: Witchcraft and Wizardry soon..."
